White River Junction → Windsor → Hartland → Woodstock → Royalton → Barnard → Fairlee
In eastern Vermont, your adventure begins in White River Junction, a lively arts community with a storied railroad history. Admire the 19th-century buildings, then visit the quirky Main Street Museum to gawk at the fascinating curiosities on display (Victorian hair art, anyone?). After, get your nature fix with a paddle on the Connecticut River.
Ditch I-91 for Route 5 south to Windsor, the “Birthplace of Vermont,” where the state’s first constitution was signed. Witness where it happened at the Old Constitution House, then pop into the nearby American Precision Museum to see manufacturing machinery and tools from a bygone era. Make sure to drive across the picturesque Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge (the longest two-lane covered bridge in the world) that connects the Green Mountain State with New Hampshire while you’re there.
Just a short drive away, Fat Sheep Farm in Hartland invites you to stay in private cabins with sweeping views of fields and hills. From there, it’s an easy trip to Woodstock, where you can visit the Billings Farm & Museum, wander down Central Street, and browse the many local shops. The Woodstock Inn & Resort combines cozy comfort and EV charging.
In Royalton, take advantage of the Level 2 chargers at the Vermont Law and Graduate School campus while you grab lunch at South Royalton Market and enjoy a walk — or a swim, if the weather’s right — along the White River. In the evening, stop by Worthy Burger for a fun local dinner in a repurposed freight house.
Continue north to Fairlee for a relaxing stroll around Lake Morey or a paddle on the water. Lake Morey Resort offers a huge variety of year-round recreation options, from boating, biking, and golf to the longest ice skating trail in the US. It counts EV charging among its amenities, making the resort an

The air is crisp, and the leaves are bursting into vivid hues. Maybe you’re planning a road trip to admire the beauty. But getting your fill of fall foliage from behind the wheel can turn into an awkward juggle between admiring the vistas and navigating traffic. If you hop on a train, you can give the scenery your full attention and view some sights you just can’t see from the highway. Here are five great American train rides that offer day trips for peak-autumn panoramas.
Vacation days are sacred . Since I'm married with two children, it might be easy to assume that I spend all of my time off with them, but I've found that I spend almost as much time off on trips with my girlfriends. That's not to say that I don't love time with my husband and kids, but I would never see my best friends if I didn't make an effort to see them.
I've spent the last 26 years traveling by train all along both US coasts, through the Midwest, and across the UK.
An Army contractor and his girlfriend used government funds to finance personal vacations across the country, including 31 trips to Orlando, federal prosecutors say.

When I picture a road trip, I see images of two carefree people in a convertible traversing Route 66. There are no kids in the picture, and I'm not even sure there is luggage. It feels so easy and inexpensive. A road trip with kids, however, is a different experience, especially when those kids are teenagers.
I took my first river cruise somewhat reluctantly. It was on my mom's bucket list, and I love my mom. So I agreed to a Columbia and Snake River cruise on American Cruise Lines that would take us from Idaho through Washington to Oregon, with stops in sleepy towns ripe with Lewis and Clark history.
“It’s a Dall sheep!” the train tour guide exclaims as we swoop past a jagged cliffside dotted with fuzzy white creatures impressively balanced on their rocky perch.
The East Coast is home to numerous idyllic winter wonderlands, but none quite as idyllic as Vermont. The wide, open fields, the quaint towns, the abundant maple syrup—it’s no wonder there are so many great hotels, cabins, and Airbnbs to cozy up in and hibernate for the season. If you’re a skier or snowboarder, the Green Mountain State is especially hard to beat. Each winter, once the autumn leaves blow away and the first snow dusts the landscape, people travel from all across the Northeast (and the country) to soak up the area’s wintry charms and book a stay at one of their many ski resorts.
According to a recent Pew Research study, 51 percent of people think their pets are not just part of the family, but also say they love them as much as the human members of their families. And when you narrow it down to two-person households with no kids — as my husband and I happily have — that number skyrockets, with 65 percent of people saying they love their pets as much as human members of their family.
“S cottsdale topped the list of destinations for my sister’s bachelorette,” says Alexis Vazquez. Vazquez wrapped her maid of honor duties last month. Her voice has an edge of relief as she chronicles the logistics of planning her sister Reina’s dream bachelorette in Arizona. “Planning a wedding can be a nightmare, but people underestimate how complicated it is to throw a successful multi-day bachelorette party.”
