February may be the shortest month, but this one was certainly jam-packed with hotel news.
On the less-than-exciting side, Hyatt rolled out its annual hotel category changes. Hyatt, thankfully, still uses an award chart to price nights booked with points, but every year, a number of hotels move up or down in category. This year, 118 hotels moved up in category while only 33 shifted down.
In a similar vein, a recent TPG analysis also found that Marriott Bonvoy points have decreased in value. But the program still has plenty of incredible places to snag a great redemption. You just might have to be more flexible or more crafty to get the best bang for your buck.
February also saw the launch of TPG's list of the most exciting hotels opening in 2025. This list, curated by our expert team of travelers, includes family-friendly brands offering free breakfast, the very first W-branded all-inclusive resort and hotels as far away as Australia and as close to home as Indianapolis.
Between all of that, here's some more hotel news you might have missed in the last 28 days.
Four Seasons has been a major part of "The White Lotus" since the series began. The luxe Canadian hotel brand has also been wowing travelers with its Four Seasons private jet itineraries that have people flying between luxury hotels in far-flung destinations throughout the year. (Think of it like a season of the show but all the guests fly together between resorts around the world.)
Now, Four Seasons is inviting fans of the HBO Max hit show to join a 20-day itinerary that will include flights between, and stays at, Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui in Thailand; San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel in Sicily; and Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea in Hawaii. Called the World of Wellness 2026, the trip will start in Singapore and also include stays in the Maldives; Marrakech, Morocco; Nevis in the Caribbean; and Mexico City, alongside wellness experiences, sipping handcrafted cocktails in the sky and, unlike the show, a lot less drama.
If you're really curious about what it's like staying at the hotels featured on "The White Lotus," TPG already went to visit those three Four Seasons locations and put together a fun video showing off the hotels.

Scoring a table at soup dumpling institution Din Tai Fung anywhere in the world comes with hurdles. It might be waiting for your number to pop up on the screen outside Taipei’s four-story Xinsheng Branch, queueing up outside the Santa Clara, California, one, or fighting for an online reservation at midnight for the New York City outpost. But there’s one way to seamlessly enjoy your own private meal—on board the airline EVA Air.
For Korean Air, it's out with the old and in with the new.
While we may not want to live the lives of The White Lotus cast (murder mysteries are much more fun on our televisions), we definitely wouldn’t say no to living in some of the properties featured on the show. The gorgeous, impressive, and opulent Four Seasons Koh Samui, which poses as Thailand’s White Lotus outpost, continues to wow throughout the season, and is very much worth a visit whether or not you’re interested in walking in the footsteps of Victoria (Parker Posey) or Timothy (Jason Isaacs). The Anantara Mai Khao Phuket is also on the list of places where White Lotus was filmed—it’s the location of Belinda’s (Natasha Rothwell) Wellness Centre. Now, there’s another place to add to the list if you’re looking to make a White Lotus–themed itinerary with impeccable stays.

Kaley Cuoco has traveled to some of the dreamiest destinations around the world for work, including Thailand to film the first season of Max’s Flight Attendant, which premiered in 2020, and Berlin for the 2024 Prime Video movie «Role Play.» But of all the beautiful places she's traveled for work, Iceland was her favorite.
A traveler’s suitcase tells their story long before they get where they’re going—just ask Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya McQuoid, whose lavender-and-orange monkey print arrival ensemble became as memorable as her final, fateful plunge. For three seasons, The White Lotus costume designer Alex Bovaird has turned the show into a mandatory primer in resort wear psychology, where every unbuttoned shirt and oversized sunhat reveals more about its wearer than their room preference. From Tanya's scene-stealing caftans (may they rest in peace) to those crisp staff uniforms that stay starched even as their wearer’s lives unravel around them, Bovaird's costumes aren't just clothes—they're spoilers with sleeves. Now, as the show trades Sicily's sun-soaked melodrama for Thailand's spiritual awakening, we caught up with the Emmy-nominated designer to discuss how she crafts the show's distinctive look, her journey from fashion industry jobs to Hollywood, and why you should never, ever pack sweatpants for a luxury vacation. Though given the show's track record, perhaps comfortable shoes for running away from trouble wouldn't hurt.
