You'll be able to sleep as decadently as a pharaoh at Accor's hottest new hotel in development.
On Thursday the Paris-based hotel giant announced plans for Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza, a new luxury hotel in development in Egypt in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company. The hotel, slated to open in late 2027, will be near the new Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza pyramids. Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza will be the eighth property in the Sofitel Legend brand of historic luxury hotels, which also includes TPG favorite Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo in Panama and the Sofitel Legend Metropole in Hanoi, Vietnam.
"We are truly excited to bring the Sofitel Legend brand to the iconic landscape of Giza with this exceptional project," Maud Bailly, Accor's CEO of Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery and Emblems, said in a statement. "Here, luxury and history will converge in an unforgettable way. With Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza, we are creating a flagship destination that honors Egypt's profound heritage and culture while marking a major milestone for our brand."
Sofitel Legend properties blend French luxury and cultural nods to the local surroundings, so expect plenty of Egyptian heritage — plus incredible views of the pyramids — at the new hotel. Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza will be the second property for the brand in Egypt, which already has Sofitel Legend Old Cataract in Aswan. Channel Agatha Christie's "Death on the Nile" and explore both by late 2027 — perhaps with more of the luxury and less of the drama found in the mystery novel.

Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza will feature 303 rooms and suites, a spa and fitness center, infinity pools and a variety of restaurants. Most rooms will offer pyramid views. The property's convenience to the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is expected to house more than 100,000 artifacts — the world's largest collection — from ancient Egyptian civilization, as well as the pyramids, will make this new Sofitel Legend a dream hotel for history buffs as well as luxury aficionados.
"Together with Accor, we are crafting a transformative experience at the Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza, where the rich narrative of ancient Egypt meets unparalleled luxury," said Yahia Kotub, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company. "Our commitment to excellence will not only elevate the standards of hospitality but also celebrate the timeless beauty and heritage of this extraordinary destination."
