Planning a vacation can be such a fun task, especially when involving your kids in the process.
Children might make you think of stuff that hadn’t crossed your mind at all, like will the Elf on the Shelf be visiting our hotel?
How many parents have faced that question?
Our Elf on the Shelf in the Bowman household is named Carrot. My daughter named her when she was nearly 3 years old. Perhaps she was hungry at the time of the name picking or maybe she just loved the word. We’re not too sure, but we love it. And yes, she does still love eating carrots…but only a specific brand. All other carrots taste awful, apparently. Kid logic, right?
Those with an Elf on the Shelf know he or she travels to the North Pole every night and returns to the child’s home by morning.
But what about when that child leaves home for a vacation during the holiday season?
We’re dealing with this now as we just went on the preview sailing for the new Disney Treasure cruise ship last week, and we leave later this week for a family vacation with my in-laws.
My sister informed me that these elves now have traveling cases that they hop in and can join you on your journey. Of course, the kids still know not to touch the elf or else it will lose its magic and can’t return to the North Pole.
Carrot unfortunately gets seasick, so she left a note informing us about this and that she wouldn’t be able to make the cruise sailing.
We don’t know if a magic travel carrier will appear before this coming vacation or if we’ll receive another note.
These magical elves sure are full of mystery and wonder.
Gotta love the holiday season, right?
