Cathay Pacific will launch a new route from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), the airline said on Tuesday.
The Hong Kong-based airline will fly between its home hub and DFW beginning April 24, 2025, with four flights in each direction per week.
Flight CX897 will depart from DFW at 11:55 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Hong Kong at 5:05 a.m. two days later (since the flight crosses the international date line). Flights to Dallas — CX898 — will leave from Hong Kong at 4:05 p.m. also on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving at 5:55 p.m. on the same day.
Cathay will operate the route with its flagship Airbus A350-1000 jet. The plane features 46 lie-flat business-class seats in a reverse herringbone configuration. While it doesn't feature the airline's new Aria business-class suite — that's being rolled out on the Boeing 777-300ER and, eventually, the 777-9 — it's nevertheless a comfortable option and one of the better executions of this type of configuration.
The planes also feature 32 premium economy seats and 256 seats in the regular economy cabin.

Cathay is well-known for its quality on-board service, and offers connections beyond Hong Kong across much of Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
The airline is a member of the Oneworld alliance, along with American Airlines and Alaska Airlines, so the new route offers a new potential redemption opportunity for U.S.-based travelers, whether based in DFW or connecting from another city served by a Oneworld carrier.
Award searches on Tuesday showed open award seats in all three cabins on the new route throughout the schedule, including some days with two business-class seats available. Flights can be booked for as little as 37,500 British Airways Avios in economy.
