In the next few years, you could turn to the youth and say, "When I was your age, budget cruises were still a thing."

T-shirts, socks, 357 magnum, underwear …
How in the world do you forget a firearm that’s packed in your luggage?
NBC News is reporting that 3,000 firearms have been confiscated at airports already this year. There were also high-profile incidents in Turks and Caicos earlier this year, in which people were caught with firearms.
Sorry, but I have no compassion or tolerance for such stupidity. And that’s assuming it’s just a genuine mistake and not something more devious. That’s why I partly don’t buy the ‘I forgot’ excuse.
And it’s more prevalent than you think.
Remembering whether or not you packed a toothbrush is one thing. A gun is something different.
Now, let me say this before all the Second Amendment advocates get up in arms – I totally respect the right to legally carry a weapon. But there’s an incredible responsibility that comes with that. Forgetting that you have a firearm in your luggage is irresponsible.
Traveling can be stressful. But this is inexcusable. People have been known to forget their passports, but a firearm is a pretty tough thing to forget. You remember your credit cards and cash, right? Those are most assuredly part of your itinerary. Remembering you have a gun in your carry-on is just as important, if not more so.
I know it sounds harsh, but that’s why I have no tolerance for such idiocy.
Perhaps the Transportation Security Administration can come up with an amnesty-like program in which you can just turn over your weapons if it is discovered that you brought them by mistake. But nobody wants to surrender a firearm that they paid several hundred dollars, if not more, for.
Otherwise, I can’t come up with a viable solution for stupidity.

We haven't had an impressive northern lights show in a few months, but that might change tonight.
The Caribbean is synonymous with great beaches and warm weather, but the area is also full of exciting activities for travelers.
On the ponderous, three-hour train journey between Romania’s capital Bucharest and the town of Brasov, I’m reading what is probably the most famous book set in the country.
Operations are fully back on track at Delta Air Lines. After a five-day meltdown that saw more than 5,000 flights canceled between Friday and Tuesday, the airline on Wednesday announced it was "fully staffed" and prepared to fly its full schedule.
You've probably heard of Royal Caribbean's cruises. But you might not know that it has two sister brands — and they're nothing alike.
Also known as “Lefkas”, Lefkada is distinct in that it requires no ferry or boat journey to access it—instead, you simply drive over a causeway a short distance from Prevaza airport on the mainland. Part of the Ionian Islands, mountainous Lefkada is densely forested (providing welcome shade when it’s hot) and has some beautiful beaches that are virtually empty during the shoulder seasons. Compared to better-known Greek islands, Lefkada remains crowd-free and uncommercialized (there are no international hotel brands here yet), so keep the secret to yourself. It’s also a good jumping-off point for celebrity magnet Meganisi, where you can visit Fish Taverna Errikos for lunch.
While Southwest just announced changes to its seating program (gone are the days of seat free-for-alls), one thing that hasn’t changed is its beverage program. The jostle of the cart, the “what would you like?” and the “ice or no ice?” But while you wait for your drink, you might be interested to know that the service starts in certain rows, and those rows are well-known before a flight. So yes, you can get your drink first.

I've traveled around the world, but even after a dozen visits, Paris remains my favorite city. I never tire of its cafés, restaurants, parks, or opportunities to practice my French.
