One of the nation’s largest low-cost airlines is expanding its presence at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, adding new services at one of the busiest hub airports.
This spring, Frontier Airlines will launch nonstop service between JFK and Miami International Airport (MIA), Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). In celebration of the new routes, Frontier is also running a fare sale with flights as low as $19 to $49 one-way, according to a release.
The new flights will operate year-round. The services to Miami and Los Angeles will be offered daily, while the flights to Dallas will be offered 4x/weekly:
“This is an exciting day for consumers as we once again expand our offerings at JFK,” Frontier’s vice president of network and operations design, Josh Flyr, said in a statement. “With the launch of these ultra-low fare flights to Miami, Dallas, and Los Angeles, we are increasing the availability of affordable travel to top destinations for New Yorkers, as well as making a New York adventure or business trip that much more affordable for budget-savvy consumers across the United States.”
These new routes are significant for the carrier as Frontier only began operating out of JFK in June 2024. Since then, the low-cost carrier has introduced services to popular destinations favored by budget-conscious travelers, as well as other major cities like Las Vegas and Atlanta.
While maintaining its budget-friendly model, Frontier is enhancing its offerings with premium upgrades. By late 2025, the airline plans to introduce first-class recliner seats. Additionally, travelers can opt for the “UpFront Plus” seating option, which provides extra comfort by guaranteeing an empty middle seat.
