It's a season of savings for travelers looking to explore international destinations.  Delta Air Lines recently published hundreds of discounted flights in its Premium Cabin Deals section, which includes offers both in its SkyMiles frequent flyer program redemptions, as well as for traditional cash payment. Spring break is just around the corner, and there is a new way to save on flights.  JetBlue recently announced the ‘Big, Blue, Award Travel Sale’ which provides savings and discounts for awards tickets booked with its TrueBlue frequent flyer programs. The promotion has discounted flights to popular spring break getaways such as Aruba, Bermuda, Cancun, Charleston, and Las Vegas.  As an example of the potential savings, a one-way flight from New York (JFK) to Orlando (MCO) can cost as much as 17,400 points. However, with the new sale there are deals available on the exact same route from only 2,700 points, plus $5.60 in taxes.  While the deals may be strong, travelers will need to act fast, as the sale ends at 11:59 PM EST on March 12, 2025. It just got easier to explore the Dominican Republic and Central America.Arajet, the flagship carrier airline of the Dominican Republic, recently announced new service from the New York area to the Las Américas Santo Domingo Airport (SDQ). The flights will operate from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, which serves the tri-state area and is connected to New York City by the New Jersey Transit train.  The new route begins on June 16, 2025, and Arajet is celebrating with introduction fares as low as $262 round-trip.

Dominican airline Arajet announced that it will launch flights to the New York area in June, revealing new details of the startup carrier's plans to expand its nascent presence in the United States.

Avianca is opening up two new direct routes to Central America from Florida later this spring, adding increased connections for U.S. travelers to Central America. Beginning May 10, flights will start between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Guatemala City (GUA) and operate daily. That same day Avianca will also launch a new route between Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Managua (MGA), Nicaragua.
