It just got easier to visit Iceland and the rest of Europe from the Sunshine State.
Icelandair recently announced new service between Miami, FL, and Reykjavík, Iceland that will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The inaugural flight will takeoff on October 25, 2025, and the service will run seasonally through March 2026.
Best of all, Miami travelers can connect in Reykjavík to another Icelandair flight for access throughout Europe, including Berlin, Paris, Rome, and Zurich.
Icelandair is known for their stopover program, where travelers can stay in Iceland for several days with no additional charge. For example, a traveler could fly from Miami to Reykjavík, and enjoy a two night vacation as the stopover in Iceland, before connecting on another flight to Paris.
“With the new long-range and fuel-efficient Airbus aircraft we are able to add new and exciting destinations and Miami is a great addition,” Icelandair’s President and CEO Bogi Nils Bogason shared in a statement.
“Miami will fit well into our route network, with convenient connections via Iceland to our 34 destinations in Europe.”
Miami International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and the region is a popular tourist destination. The World Travel Awards recently ranked Miami Beach as America's Leading City Destinations for its seven miles of beaches, and also having the largest collection of art deco buildings in the world.
The area is also home to some of the top luxury hotels, including the Fontainebleau.
Icelandair has been on the move with partnerships and other expansions within the United States. The airline recently launched a partnership with Southwest Airlines, offering interline connections from several gateway cities, including Baltimore and Nashville, to Iceland.

A new flight route makes a warm-weather getaway to Florida easier, and cheaper.Frontier Airlines recently launched service to Miami International Airport from the Bradley International Airport in Hartford, CT. In celebration of the new route, Frontier is offering discounts with one-way fares as low as $49. The service officially began on February 13, 2025, and operates three times a week, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The $49 discounted fares are available for purchase through April 21, 2025, and can be used for travel until May 21, 2025.
Charleston, South Carolina has long been a favorite destination among travelers, and a new airline route is making it easier to visit. American Airlines will soon begin direct service between Charleston, SC and New York, NY (LGA) on June 6, 2025. The new route will operate twice weekly on Fridays and Saturdays through the summer, according to American’s booking website. The two-hour and 17-minute flight will be operated with an Embraer 175 aircraft. American Airlines currently operates flights to Charleston from Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Philadelphia, Miami, and Washington, D.C.
