I've spent the last decade traveling solo to all 63 major US national parks. Although I've found incredible beauty in each park, I find myself continually going back to some, while others I'm happy to have seen once.
The parks I keep returning to are varied and more generally accessible, meaning I can visit more often with less expense and a shorter planning period.
On the other hand, the parks I'm glad to have only seen once are likely some of the most impressive parks of all — but they're more challenging to get to logistically and financially.
Here are the three parks I love returning to, and the three I'm glad I've checked off my list.
