Florida is so much more than theme parks and sandy beaches — it's a place I've fallen in love with over the last 25 years for its gorgeous views, amazing weather, and the excitement of always finding something new to explore.
As someone who has lived in Orlando for decades, I've traveled Florida from coast to coast and have learned of lots of hidden gems along the way.
Here are seven places in Florida no tourist should miss.

While travelers have felt the pain of expensive airfare, a new report reveals a clever way that can help save money. The Department of Transportation regularly publishes a ranking of the cheapest, and most expensive, airports within the United States based on the price of an average round-trip ticket. In its most recent filing, the range of airfare prices varies widely from a low $90, to an expensive $1,600 ticket. Within the data, the ranking shows how driving a few extra miles can help a traveler save dramatically on their flight.
A spring break getaway just got cheaper. Frontier Airlines recently discounted four million tickets to as low as $19 as part of a new fare sale. Best of all, the tickets can be used for travel until May 21, 2025, making it a great opportunity to snag a spring break or early summer vacation. The fare sale includes numerous deals to popular Florida airports such as Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and West Palm Beach. Discounted fares are also available to Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, and more. The fare sale ends on February 9, 2025 at 11:59 pm EST, so travelers will need to act fast to secure the deals. The airline also states the fares are only valid on non stop travel for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturdays, and there are other restrictions based on the destinations and blackout dates over popular holiday weekends. “Fall in love with February travel,” Frontier shares on its website. “Enjoy lower prices and fewer crowds at top destinations.”Travel + Leisure spotted several of the $19 one-way fares available, including:

A major Florida airport has an expansion on the horizon. Tampa International Airport recently announced that its new $1.5 billion Terminal D will be anchored by Delta Air Lines, which will have access to at least six gates, and also operate a new airline lounge in the space. Delta currently operates a variety of flights from Tampa, including direct routes to its hubs in Atlanta, Boston, New York (JFK and LGA), and Minneapolis. It also operates an international route to Amsterdam, and will soon launch a direct flight to Austin, Texas.
We've officially entered February, which means romance is in the air. But if you haven't planned the perfect Valentine's Day adventure for you and your sweetheart, Vio, the travel deals website, has a few ideas. In January, the website revealed its list of the most romantic getaway destinations for couples. It came to its conclusion after surveying 1,007 Americans who identified as «in a relationship» about their past and future couple trips, along with their «disagreements, their budgets, destinations, and golden rules for traveling together.» After examining all the data, it named Yosemite the spot that helps couples «feel the most romantically connected.»
