Portland, Oregon, may have claimed a spot on TPG's list of best places to travel in 2025, but just over the border, Washington's second-largest city, Spokane, boasts an exciting new reason to spend a few days visiting the Evergreen State: The Louie at Davenport Hotel.
A reimagining of a former property from Davenport Hotels, a group of hotels in Spokane, The Louie at Davenport is set to open in February with 48 residential-style rooms. As an homage to Davenport Hotels' original namesake, Louie Davenport, the design of the rooms and hotel take inspiration from the developer's early 19th-century abode during the original Davenport Hotel's construction before opening in 1914.
Located just steps from The Davenport Hotel, The Louie is set to bring a new standard of luxury to Spokane that's both contemporary and classic. Throughout the hotel, which has an art gallery-meets-library vibe, expect to see one-of-a-kind antiques, plenty of books, tchotchkes and other odes to Davenport's hobbies in Spokane. And those who love the finer things in life will be please to learn that once open, The Louie at Davenport will be the first hotel in town to offer butler service.
Best of all, The Louie will join Marriott's Autograph Collection, meaning Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and burn points on stays in Spokane. (In fact, all of Davenport Hotels' portfolio resides in Marriott Bonvoy, including The Davenport Hotel, The Davenport Tower and The Davenport Grand.)
"The Louie is a tribute to Louie Davenport's pioneering spirit and vision, which shaped the city's hospitality scene over a century ago. Our new hotel embodies the charm, elegance, and innovation that defined Louis Davenport's legacy," Melissa Green, vice president and area managing director for Davenport Hotels, exclusively told TPG. "The Louie is our way of bringing something truly unique to Spokane — a place where history comes alive through design, service, and storytelling."
Almost like a hotel-within-a-hotel, guests at The Louie can take advantage of much The Davenport Hotel offers, including multiple bars and restaurants, a spa, an indoor heated pool, and a 24-hour gym — but when you get tired of people, you can quickly escape to your nearby residential-style room and order room service or stay downstairs for The Louie's nightly cocktail hour.
Cash and points rates are not yet available for The Louie.

Until fairly recently, Mexico City’s most in-demand hotels were found in one of two areas: moneyed Polanco or along the skyscraper-lined Reforma Avenue. But over the last few years, a number of small, independent properties have emerged in the trendier (and expat-heavy) boroughs of Condesa and neighboring Roma, many of them moving into the graceful old buildings that characterize this verdant pocket of the sprawling capital. The most appealing hotels in this new crop tend to favor low-key charm over unbridled luxury but in a part of town that’s notably serious about design, they fit right in. Here, three of the newest standouts.

On top of announcing new Bluetooth-capable seatback screens and new partnerships with Uber and YouTube, Delta Air Lines revealed a head-turning partnership during its star-studded spectacle at Las Vegas' Sphere last week.
