Norwegian Cruise Line will debut two new entertainment offerings onboard its forthcoming ship Norwegian Aqua, which is scheduled to debut in April 2025.
The two new shows are called “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince” and “Elements: The World Expanded.”
The shows were developed by Norwegian’s in-house production team at the Creative Studios by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings in Tampa, Florida, as well as award-winning Broadway choreographer and director Patricia Wilcox.
“For decades, NCL has set the standard in entertainment at sea, with world class productions and talent that rivals those found in major cities like Las Vegas, New York City and London,” says David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “For Norwegian Aqua, we are thrilled to build on our legacy of excellence in entertainment to offer our guests more options across the ship, including exclusive original productions that cannot be seen anywhere else on land or at sea.”
Norwegian developed “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince” in partnership with Prince Legacy, LLC and Primary Wave Music. The immersive tribute show will pay homage to Prince, with popular songs like “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Little Red Corvette,” “Delirious,” “Purple Rain” and more.
“I’ve always been inspired by Prince and the idea came to me, nearly seven years ago, to create a theatrical concert that would joyfully celebrate his music and exceptional artistry,” says Wilcox. “After loving my past collaborations with the team at Norwegian Cruise Line, and seeing the beautiful, multi-purpose theater aboard Norwegian Aqua, I knew we would be wonderful partners for this collaboration.”
“Elements: The World Expanded” will be a revamped version of the cruise line’s popular “Elements” show, which is offered on four ships. It will feature acrobatics and magic, centered around the four elements—earth, wind, water and fire.
The ship will also feature The Aqua Theater & Club, “The Improv at Sea” comedy club, “The Price is Right LIVE on NCL” game show and the Fleetwood Mac tribute experience “Syd Norman’s Presents: Rumours.”
“From vibrant production shows to parties, musical performances, game shows, comedy and more, we have struck just the right balance of offering something for everyone to enjoy on board Norwegian Aqua,” says Bryan Anthony White, the cruise line’s vice president of entertainment production. “Our talented performers and the staff behind-the-scenes who bring our original productions to life are one-of-a-kind, and their dedication, passion and effort truly shines through when watching these exceptional shows. Our team is already working to bring these new entertainment offerings to life on board Norwegian Aqua and we look forward to wowing our guests when it sets sail

Born in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, Nemonte Nenquimo, an Indigenous Waorani woman and activist, traveled a long and arduous path to become one of the earth’s fiercest defenders. In her new memoir, We Will Be Jaguars: A Memoir of My People, released September 17, she shares the story of that journey, charting her experience growing up in the forest—a place where months are measured in moons, shamans and plant medicines heal, and dreams and intuition guide one’s path in life—as well as the pain and trauma inflicted by missionaries, oil companies, and governments that have long attempted to erase Indigenous culture and exploit their homelands. Now a leading figure in climate activism, Nenquimo’s book is also the first of its kind to be written by an Indigenous person from the Ecuadorian Amazon, where ancestral knowledge and wisdom about life in the forest have been passed down orally for millenia and the tradition of storytelling never manifests on paper. “For us, stories are living beings,” she writes in the introduction. “Our stories have never been written down. Not like this.”

A popular low-cost air airline is expanding globally. Southwest Airlines recently announced a partnership to offer international flights by partnering with carriers who operate international fights in Southwest markets. “Southwest is formalizing partnerships with international carriers to expand its network and connect Customers with more global destinations to generate additional demand for travel across the Southwest network,” Southwest shared in a news release. The launch of this new international flight program will take place in 2025, with Icelandair as the first partner airline, and will depart from the Baltimore, MD (BWI) airport. There, travelers can fly on Icelandair to Iceland, where they can connect to a variety of European destinations including Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Dublin, Oslo, Prague, Rome, and more. Icelandair is a discount carrier that operates international flights, and similar to Southwest, does not have a first or business class section on their aircraft. “The partnership will unlock many exciting travel options for our customers, and our extensive network in Europe will open for Southwest customers,” Icelandair President and CEO Bogi Nils Bogason said in a statement. “As part of our strategic focus on expanding our global partnership network, we seek out airlines known for exceptional service and connectivity.” As an example, a traveler would start their journey on Southwest from Nashville to Baltimore, and then continue on Icelandair from Baltimore to Iceland.
