When I was 15, my dad and I took a trip to Los Angeles that changed my life. We didn't have a set agenda, and since we were staying down the road from the University of California, we took a campus tour.

We've officially entered February, which means romance is in the air. But if you haven't planned the perfect Valentine's Day adventure for you and your sweetheart, Vio, the travel deals website, has a few ideas.
In January, the website revealed its list of the most romantic getaway destinations for couples. It came to its conclusion after surveying 1,007 Americans who identified as «in a relationship» about their past and future couple trips, along with their «disagreements, their budgets, destinations, and golden rules for traveling together.» After examining all the data, it named Yosemite the spot that helps couples «feel the most romantically connected.»
«Yosemite, California, was rated the best destination for feeling romantically connected, with its breathtaking natural beauty setting the stage for love,» the report stated, adding that the most connected generation to Yosemite is millennials.
«Nature proved to be the ultimate love booster: 90 percent of couples felt more connected in mountainous or nature-oriented destinations,» it added. «And the stakes for these trips were high: 82 percent of couples expected a romantic getaway to improve their relationship, while 61 percent said bucket-list destinations lived up to the hype.»

However, it's not the only place where couples feel the love. The study also named New York City as the overall most popular pick for couples seeking a romantic getaway.
«When it comes to sheer popularity, New York City took the crown as the top destination for couples, followed by Las Vegas, Nevada, and Orlando, Florida,» the study stated. «Each offers its own romantic flair, from Broadway shows to high-stakes excitement and theme park thrills. Beaches, however, remain the universal favorite for couples — nothing says 'romance' like sunsets over the ocean and sand between your toes.»
Other top romantic destinations included Los Angeles; Chicago; Washington, D.C.; Miami; San Francisco; San Diego; and Atlanta, which rounded out the top 10.
But to feel more connected, travelers should also seek out Maui, which came in second place in that sub-list behind Yosemite, followed by Savannah, Georgia; Venice, Italy; Tokyo; Honolulu; Salt Lake City; Cancun, Mexico; Tampa, Florida; and Miami.

I've spent a decade traveling solo, visiting every US national park and all 50 states at least once.
It’s been nearly a month since the wildfires that swept across Los Angeles county changed thousands of lives forever. Though the fires are now 100% contained, the aftermath of the tragedy is still evident around the city, making it even more critical to support residents as they rebuild. As a Los Angeles native, I saw firsthand the resilience of communities determined to help each other in the face of the unimaginable. Fortunately, a number of brands have stepped up to the plate too, providing essentials like clothing, reusable water bottles, hygiene products, and prescription eyeglasses to those affected by the fires. Below, we’ve listed 11 brands that have committed to supporting wildfire victims.
While travelers have felt the pain of expensive airfare, a new report reveals a clever way that can help save money. The Department of Transportation regularly publishes a ranking of the cheapest, and most expensive, airports within the United States based on the price of an average round-trip ticket. In its most recent filing, the range of airfare prices varies widely from a low $90, to an expensive $1,600 ticket. Within the data, the ranking shows how driving a few extra miles can help a traveler save dramatically on their flight.
In 2024, approximately 1 billion passengers departed from U.S. airports. Nearly a quarter of those travelers, about 236 million, experienced a flight delay or cancellation, according to a recent report from AirHelp, an air passenger rights company.
When you hear about a company retreat, you might imagine traveling to an urban destination with massive hotel complexes just to sit for hours in windowless conference rooms and spend evenings schmoozing over room-temperature drinks. You probably don't imagine jetting off to a charming, nature-filled town along the Pacific Ocean.
There's a common misconception that you need to book a flight to experience honeymoon-worthy romance. Often, when couples envision a dreamy getaway (think: overwater bungalows, waterfront dinners and unforgettable views), they assume such wow factors can only be found overseas.
Like a lot of us, I often find myself fried from days spent staring at my computer screen and nights circling back to emails I haven't answered. So when I heard that the Sanctuary Beach Resort in Monterey Bay, California, offered a package known as the Burnout Recovery Journey, I had to try it. When I arrived, I was happy to find the kinds of treatments on the spa menu I've been seeing more and more of lately: science-based offerings like infrared light therapy, IV drips, and electromagnetic pulse therapy. My outstanding massage took place on something called a Pulsed Electromagnetic Field mat. I was grateful that the hotel offered signal-blocking phone bags for the ultimate unplugging experience. Then I realized the irony: I was treating my burnout with…more tech. One has to wonder: How did we get here?
United Airlines seems like it's serious about rebuilding domestic connectivity from key hubs.
Feeling overworked, undervalued, and generally a bit frazzled? Then, it's time to start planning a wellness-focused getaway that will totally re-align you. And Book Retreats has just got the place to go. In December, Book Retreats released its Holiday Relaxation Report, which ranked the best relaxation destinations around the world, including a special focus on the top spots for wellness. To determine its rankings, the team created a seed list of 76 places, which it selected based on their «safety, solitude, serenity, nature, and wellness.» The team at Book Retreats then ranked those selections using nine data points, including the percentage of protected area, forest coverage, crowd density, noise and light pollution, peacefulness, and total wellness experiences. Finally, it gave each destination a score of 1 to 100 to reveal the top spots.
Touchdown! The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will face off in the Super Bowl on Feb. 9, a bonanza for special flights to New Orleans.
One of my favorite things about traveling is getting to try new foods.
