The U.S. Department of State has just updated its travel advisory for Turks and Caicos, cautioning travelers about the country’s strict firearms laws. “Firearms and ammunition, including single bullets brought by mistake in carry-on bags or luggage, are illegal,” warns the State Department. “Police strictly enforce these laws, even at the airport when travelers are leaving. Travelers face arrest, jail time, and heavy fines.”

There’s still time to book a low-cost spring break getaway. Frontier Airlines recently announced a new airfare sale, with deals starting at $19. Best of all, the destinations include popular getaways such as Miami, Orlando, and Las Vegas. However, travelers will need to act fast as the fare sale ends at 11:59 PM EST on March 17, 2025,  The sale is valid on nonstop flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between April 22, 2025 and August 18, 2025, and travelers should be aware there are several blackout dates due to peak travel times. Spring break is just around the corner, and there is a new way to save on flights.  JetBlue recently announced the ‘Big, Blue, Award Travel Sale’ which provides savings and discounts for awards tickets booked with its TrueBlue frequent flyer programs. The promotion has discounted flights to popular spring break getaways such as Aruba, Bermuda, Cancun, Charleston, and Las Vegas.  As an example of the potential savings, a one-way flight from New York (JFK) to Orlando (MCO) can cost as much as 17,400 points. However, with the new sale there are deals available on the exact same route from only 2,700 points, plus $5.60 in taxes.  While the deals may be strong, travelers will need to act fast, as the sale ends at 11:59 PM EST on March 12, 2025. For years, flying from the United States to Africa has meant enduring multiple layovers and navigating complex routings through Europe or the Middle East. But that’s starting to change.

It just got easier to explore the Dominican Republic and Central America.Arajet, the flagship carrier airline of the Dominican Republic, recently announced new service from the New York area to the Las Américas Santo Domingo Airport (SDQ). The flights will operate from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, which serves the tri-state area and is connected to New York City by the New Jersey Transit train.  The new route begins on June 16, 2025, and Arajet is celebrating with introduction fares as low as $262 round-trip.
