The Qatar Airways Garden pavilion welcomed over 250,000 visitors during the international event

China Southern Airlines will operate four weekly direct flights from Guangzhou to Doha.

In mid-2023, Qatar Airways opened its vast new Al Mourjan Business Lounge at Hamad International Airport (HIA) named 'The Garden'. The lounge overlooks 'The ORCHARD', which is the central garden in the north extension of the airport surrounded by retailers and restaurants.

As the 2022 FIFA World Cup draws to a close, Qatar plans to capitalize on the global event’s publicity, visitation numbers and supporting infrastructure as a an opportunity to put the country on the map as a competitive tourist destination moving forward. 

New York’s loss is seemingly Philadelphia’s gain at American Airlines. The carrier will begin new daily flights between Philadelphia and Doha, home to Oneworld partner Qatar Airways, in October, replacing New York JFK as the gateway for the route.
