The kids have trick-or-treated, and as Americans sip Pumpkin Spice Lattes airlines are launching a slew of new sun runs to prepare for the colder weather and travelers eager for escape.
In Travel + Leisure’s latest highlights of the most exciting new routes, November has carriers big and small kicking off dozens of new routes to alluring spots in Florida, the Caribbean, and even Hawaii.
American Airlines, plus discounters Allegiant Air, Avelo Airlines, and Breeze Airways, are adding new Florida routes this month.
American will launch three from New York LaGuardia to Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa beginning Nov. 5. Economy fares for the three-plus-hour flights that depart throughout the day start as low as $64 one way to Orlando and Tampa, and $79 one way to Fort Myers.
Allegiant is adding seven — yes, seven — new routes to the Sunshine State. The discounter will connect West Palm Beach to Grand Rapids, Mich., and Punta Gorda to Savannah from Nov. 14; Fort Lauderdale to Newburgh, N.Y., and Savannah, Destin to Flint, Mich., and St. Petersburg-Clearwater to Savannah from Nov. 15; and Sarasota to Portsmouth, N.H., from Nov. 23. Introductory fares for the new routes that operate only certain days of the week range from $39 to $69 one way.
Avelo is expanding in Lakeland, Fla., about halfway between Orlando and Tampa, with new nonstops to Atlanta, Hartford, and Wilmington, Del., beginning Nov. 7 and 8. Flights to Atlanta and Wilmington operate on Thursdays and Sundays, and to Hartford on Fridays and Mondays. In addition, on the same days Avelo will also add flights between Hartford and Daytona Beach on Fridays and Mondays, and Wilmington, N.C., and Fort Myers on Thursdays and Sundays. Introductory fares for the new routes range from $34 to $49 one way.
And Breeze is expanding rapidly in Sarasota. One-way airfares start as low as $49 to Akron-Canton and Richmond, and up to $79 to Portland.
