The Walt Disney World Resort announced that the debut of its new Little Mermaid musical stage show would be pushed back to the summer of 2025.
According to Disney World officials, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure was originally scheduled to debut in the Animation Courtyard theater this fall, with work on the exterior of the building—including the installation of a new marquee—starting soon.
The Little Mermaid show was announced in June, alongside details of the show, such as practical sets, digital effects, projection mapping and both standard and digital puppetry.
Disney World also revealed that the TriceraTop Spin ride and other areas of Dinoland USA will close on January 13 as the theme park is overhauling the area to become Tropical Americas, which is slated to open to the public in 2027.
The property revealed earlier this week that its Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction at Magic Kingdom would close on January 6, but should be running again in 2026.
Additional attractions in the area will be closed in the subsequent weeks as Disney makes way for two new Cars rides and a pathway to Villains land.
