Lala Palm Safari Co. is the epitome of the revolution in the travel industry where wellness and health-conscious travel are leading the way. There is a rise among individuals with busy lifestyles seeking recovery, reconnection and rejuvenation travel experiences in response to a fast-paced and stressful modern lifestyle. This trend encapsulates a range of experiences and destinations designed specifically to promote emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being.
Mental wellness as a travel trend has been gaining significant traction over the past few years, reflecting a broader societal shift towards valuing mental health and self-care. While wellness travel historically may have been more commonly associated with women, recent trends indicate that more men are recognizing the importance of and investing in their holistic well-being. Millennials and Gen Z are at the forefront advocating for a more integrated approach to wellness. Indigenous healing offerings have gained prominence as part of the broader trend towards holistic wellness and the search for authentic, transformative experiences. These experiences draw on the wisdom and practices of indigenous cultures around the world, offering healing techniques that have been developed and passed down through generations. The interest in and drive behind these retreats are linked to an acknowledgement of indigenous healing practices, the holistic approach, and reconnection with the land.
Dr Malvina Bartmanski has created Lala Palm Safari Co. to satisfy just these needs and desires amongst travellers seeking high vibrational adventures in the wilds of Africa and beyond. Malvina is a FGASA nature guide and wildlife photographer. She is also an integrative clinical psychologist and author, specializing in health psychology and trauma (for more about this see: www.malvinapsychology.com). She follows a spirit of ecopsychology, increasingly deepening her understanding of the relationship between humans and nature. She has always been curious and passionate about learning, holding several degrees across the disciplines of psychology and finance. She is also trained in auricular acupuncture, breathwork, meditation, massage, and reflexology. Malvina found yoga in her teens, coming to do a yoga instructor course in her early 20’s. She brings all of this to the safari experience, sharing her passion for wellness and wilderness through immersive experiences.
The African bush has long been seen as a “man’s world,” but things are starting to change. A new generation of female safari guides, like Malvina, is stepping up to lead and inform travellers and protect wildlife across sub-Saharan Africa. Women tend to have more empathy and intuition for guests’ needs.

Buzz has been in short supply in southern Sardinia for some time now — some would say ever since the decline of the region’s Bronze Age Nuragic civilization.
