Many hotels in ski destinations around the world boast about their ski-in/ski-out locations. But the Little Nell in Aspen, Aspen's only Five-Star, Five-Diamond hotel, is taking this convenience one step further. Indeed, The Little Nell’s newly renovated spa, called The Spa at The Little Nell, is the only ski-in/ski-out spa in the famous mountain town.
Set at the base of Aspen Mountain, the spa offers a unique and convenient experience for winter sports enthusiasts. The spa is ideal for anyone who wants a pre-ski massage to increase circulation before hitting the slopes or after a day of skiing or snowboarding to unwind and relax.
For those skiing into the spa, all equipment can be left with a Little Nell Ski Concierge, and slippers can be worn back to the room, or guests can return to the slopes post-treatment. Little Nell ski concierges can be found at the top of the pool deck stairs, steps away from Aspen's Silver Queen Gondola. The ski concierge program includes boot warming, custom ski tuning, and equipment storage.
Designed by the acclaimed Luis Bustamante Interior Design of Madrid, Spain, The Spa at The Little Nell comprises three treatment suites, each equipped with a private changing room and steam shower. Two suites boast a hybrid infrared sauna with halotherapy and a dedicated resting area while one is equipped with dual treatment tables. A separate guest changing area with a restroom, vanity, and steam shower is also available.
The spa menu offers three distinct therapeutic pathways, Recover + Repair, Replenish + Restore, and Reset + Rebalance, all tailored to suit individual needs and providing guests with both performance enhancement and rejuvenation. A variety of integrated rituals, bodywork, and skincare solutions featured on the spa menu are in partnership with premier experts such as aesthetics and anti-inflammatory pioneer Dr. Barbara Sturm. Other products used at the spa include Colorado-based, organic skincare line ISUN and all-natural skincare brand Seed to Skin Tuscany.
Situated next to The Spa is a new fitness center with the finest in cardio and strength equipment including Woodway treadmills, Peloton cycles, Technogym weight machines, a functional training station from TRX, and ample space for free movement and self-directed workouts. Trainers will be on call and available for private bookings upon request.
The Spa is open daily from Sunday to Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Spa treatments can be booked by contacting 970.920.6390 or by email at [email protected].

Seattle skies were glowing with color as the Space Needle rang in 2024 with a brilliant light, drone, and pyrotechnic spectacular for the West Coast—and the world—to see. The T-Mobile New Year’s at the Needle extravaganza was the longest show in the event’s 32-year history, stunning viewers with an 18-minute display. More viewers were able to tune in than ever before with the event broadcast live for the first time in Portland and Spokane, in addition to Seattle.
Madrid will be on the rise in 2024, hosting 44% of the national share of international trade fairs, followed by Barcelona (22%), Valencia (13%) and Barakaldo (4%).
There’s something very satisfying about a hotel—or any enterprise, really—that settles on one thing and decides to do that thing very well. The First Roma, a new collection (or triptych, in the words of a marketer) from the Hong Kong–based quiet-luxury Pavilions Hotels & Resorts brand (known for low-key five-star properties like the Pavilions Bali), seems to have taken that idea to heart.
When the temperatures are dropping across the US and you’ve made it through the stress of the holidays, you may find yourself in desperate need of a vacay. But when it comes time to look at flights, and maybe trip packages, you may notice something when you start to type “D-o-m” into the search bar: instead of flights to the Dominican Republic, you see flights to Dominica. Maybe you’ve heard of the island, or maybe it’s your first time — or maybe you didn’t even know that Dominica and the Dominican Republic were two different countries.

The marigold façade of the Pousada Convento in Tavira, a town on Portugal's southern coast, gleams in the late-afternoon sun. Refreshing as it is to sip chilled pineapple juice in the Algarve heat, it's not the promise of shade that leads me into its cloisters. The tranquil courtyard, flanked by cheery yellow walls and weathered colonnades, is a portal to the 16th century, when the structure was built for an order of Augustinian nuns.
The moment you enter The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa, your eyes dart to the infinity pools and crystal-clear teal waters that await you through the lobby doors. For me, as a first-time traveler to Cancún, this was the moment that the slight chaos of the busy tourist city faded away, and I was able to step into that zen vacation state that we all crave.
The image of a celebrity chef dousing their Caprese salad, gazpacho or dolmas with extra-virgin olive oil is incredibly ambitious at the moment, with most Europeans facing record prices in the supermarket aisle. But why have olive oil prices risen so sharply?
Skiing is not a cheap sport. It requires a lot of gear and, depending on where you live, travel. For families, the expense mushrooms with each child, often before they can determine whether skiing — or snowboarding — is an activity the children actually like.
