Oahu’s North Shore is famous for its legendary surfers and its giant waves. I’ve been there several times, and it’s awe-inspiring to see all the surfers shredding in the water.
Now there’s something new there, which is equally impressive.
Nestled along 1,300 pristine oceanfront acres, Oahu’s dreamy-destination Turtle Bay Resort has just announced its first partnership with Chateau D’esclans, the French winery in Provence that is best known for launching the rosé revolution, with the debut of Whispering Angel Cabanas at the treasured North Shore property on September 22nd.
The worldwide reference for Provence rosé, Whispering Angel is a part of the esteemed Moët Hennessy portfolio. Available for a limited time at Turtle Bay — a Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Winner, AAA 4-Diamond property — the Whispering Angel Cabanas will be a celebration of the luxury goods powerhouse, world-class rosé, and the spirit of aloha that is carried throughout the resort. The Whispering Angel Cabanas are just feet from Turtle Bay Resort’s scenic coastline with a premium view of the surf and sunsets. Open to resort guests and the public, the elevated cabanas will come with a bottle of Whispering Angel Rosé and complimentary light bites, including a fruit arrangement, sourced from the resort’s very own 468-acre Kuilima Farm – that’s a definite wow feature — and artisanal cheese and charcuterie spread. Cabana guests will have access to an exclusive menu featuring additional iconic brands from the MH portfolio, including Ruinart, Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial, and Dom Pérignon. The sommelier-selected libations will be offered either by the glass, bottle, or as a cocktail starting at $15.
Additional seaside culinary offerings from Turtle Bay Resort’s Sunset Pool Bar will be available for cabana guests to purchase, including Island Crab Dip, Ahi Poke, Lobster Roll, Kuilima Harvest Bowl, and a variety of gourmet tacos. The customized design of the Whispering Angel Cabanas is inspired by the natural splendor of Oahu’s North Shore and Château d’Esclans’ commitment to elegance and attainable luxury. The design will meld the signature Whispering Angel pale pink color with the bright lush greenery of Turtle Bay Resort’s surroundings and will feature custom surfboards and lounge seating.
Each cabana accommodates six guests, and two cabanas can be booked as one to accommodate groups of 12 for a full day of lounging starting at 9AM-6PM. “We are absolutely thrilled to announce our partnership with Moët Hennessy, a group that boasts an unparalleled portfolio of luxury brands, with the launch of these one-of-a-kind, elevated cabanas on property,” said Robert Marusi, Chief Commercial Officer, Turtle Bay Resort. “At Turtle Bay Resort, we

Here’s a sentence I never thought I’d write: bedbugs have taken over the city of Paris, and we are now faced with the prospect that the outbreak could travel overseas. The infestation began just before Paris Fashion Week (yes, these bugs have good taste), when reports broke of increased sightings of the insects in homes, cinemas, trains and even hospitals. Now, questions are being asked about the safety of traveling to and from Paris; what we can do to prevent the spread, and whether the critters are already settling in our mattresses. Below, we answer all your questions about travel and the bedbug spread.

The fascination with theNorthern Lights dates as far back as the beginning of civilization, with the dancing waves of coloured light depicted in French cave paintings as old as 30,000 BC. Typically, they’re only seen in the northern parts of the Northern Hemisphere, near the Arctic Circle, on dark, clear autumn and winter nights. The lights are dependent on unpredictable solar flares ejecting charged particles that collide with gases in the atmosphere, so any trip to see the Northern Lights runs the risk of missing out on the spectacle altogether.

It's every tourist's nightmare—arriving on that trip in the French capital, to discover you are not the only creatures in your hotel room.
