Jamaica’s Tourism Outlook for the Fall Season Seems Bright

One of the biggest mistakes I see people making when they begin their points and miles journey is to rapidly open tons of travel rewards credit cards without any plan for what they're going to do with them. Some cards might entice you with a large welcome bonus, and others will be long-term keepers, but it's possible that after 11 months of using the card and experiencing its benefits, you might change your mind about it and cancel the credit card before the annual fee is due.

Earlier this year, Southwest Airlines brought back its promotion to earn a limited-time Companion Pass. If you registered, booked a flight between Aug. 28 and Aug. 30 and completed travel by Sept. 30, you'd earn a coveted Companion Pass valid from Jan. 8 through March 8, 2024.

Domestic flights to New York City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Orlando all average under $200. Each city is seeing prices at least 24 percent lower than the same ticket over the summer.
