JetBlue Just Released Its Best-ever TrueBlue Points Sale — What to Know
09.02.2024 - 21:08
JetBlue is selling points with up to a 90 percent bonus, allowing travelers to buy TrueBlue points at a deeply discounted rate.
The sale, which ends March 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET, is targeted at TrueBlue members. All purchases are nonrefundable and will reflect on member accounts within 72 hours of the transaction.
To receive the absolute best rate, travelers must purchase a minimum of 3,000 points before the 90 percent additional bonus kicks in. That math breaks down to roughly 1.3 cents per point, which is one of the best bonuses we’ve seen from the airline.
Some other fine print to note is there’s a maximum transaction limit of 100,000 points — though members are only limited to purchasing up to 120,000 points in a calendar year. In other words, this means members targeted for this sale can receive 190,000 TrueBlue points for the same price as purchasing 100,000 points normally.
However, travelers should also note that TrueBlue points are different than the tiles required to qualify for Mosaic elite status. While tiles cannot be purchased at this time, travelers can earn one tile for every $100 in qualifying spend on JetBlue travel or for every $1,000 spent on a JetBlue credit card.
JetBlue’s TrueBlue loyalty program offers revenue-based redemptions, meaning the number of points needed for a free flight is directly tied to the cash price of the fare. On average, travelers can expect to redeem their rewards for an average of 1.4 to 1.5 cents per point.
The point purchase sale comes as JetBlue is celebrating its 24th anniversary, offering a week of deals for travelers. Today only, travelers can purchase one-way flights for as low as $49 or redeem their stash of TrueBlue points for the best possible deal.
