Sometimes, even Barbie needs a break from Malibu Beach. Flush with cash from her $1.4 billion blockbuster eponymous movie released last summer, she’s taking her first-ever Caribbean vacation—and she’s chosen the splashiest, pinkest resort she could find.
Mattel revealed on Thursday a summer-long partnership with the Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas megaresort for a Barbie experience sure to have girls of all ages clamoring to go.
There will be Barbie-themed beachside guestrooms and special Barbie experiences, including immersive life-size Barbie playsets, doll-box photo stations, a Barbie ball pit, and lots and lots (and lots) of pink. On the beach, there will be rentable Barbie-fied cabanas. At the pool and in the movie theater, there will be Barbie movie nights. At the resort’s kids club, there will be Barbie-themed cooking classes. A café will offer a Barbie-inspired menu featuring desserts, cocktails and mocktails. You get the idea.
Even if your only job on vacation is beach (hello, Kens), there is never a shortage of things to do at Atlantis Bahamas, which sprawls across 400 acres of Paradise Island and boasts over 40 restaurants, bars, and lounges—including celebrity chef-stamped venues such as Fish by José Andrés, Nobu by Nobu Matsuhisa and Paranza by Michael White. There’s a huge spa, a newly opened tennis and pickleball center, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, a movie theater, a kids’ club, a gaming arcade, a teen nightclub, a comedy club, a casino, a marine-life conservation center, and an award-winning 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Weiskopf. At Aquaventure, the resort’s ginormous, 141-acre waterpark, there are 11 pools as well as waterslides, river rides, dolphin experiences, and five miles of sugary sand beaches.
What will this special Barbie vacation extravaganza at Atlantis Bahamas cost, you ask? Good question—but you’ll have to wait a bit longer, as prices are not yet available.
You can expect it to be pricey, so plan to bring your biggest Barbie purse. Even without the world’s famous doll on site, Atlantis Bahamas is a wallet-groaner. Guests can expect to pay at least $400 per night for a hotel room, before food and extras—though packages that bundle flights and hotel rooms can sometimes bring the cost down. Don’t forget to budget for the 21% in combined tourism and local taxes and a $65-per-night resort fee. There’s also a mandatory housekeeping gratuity of between $5 and $100 per day.
And, of course, you’ll want to hit the gift store, which will be offering special Barbie merch all summer long.

I booked my first-ever cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas in April 2022. The seven-day Caribbean voyage on a mega-ship took me round-trip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to port stops in Honduras, Mexico, and the Bahamas. I expected breathtaking views of the world between relaxing swimming and sunbathing sessions.

It might be surprising but Nova Scotia is one of the only destinations in Canada with its own wine appellation. Tidal Bay—a briny and refreshing white wine blend—has become one of the distinct flavors of the East Coast of Canada, not unlike lobster rolls or donairs, and although it’s easy to find a bottle of the stuff in most liquor stores in the province, tasting Tidal Bay straight from the source is way more fun.
