Discount airlines are rolling out the deals to welcome passengers back on planes.
Spirit Airlines recently released a variety of one way flight deals for under $40, including to popular locations such as Atlanta, Detroit, Las Vegas, Orlando, and more.
The discounted rates are available on Spirit's Popular Flight Deals page, where passengers can enter in their home airport and maximum budget to see which flights are available from their city. For example, if a passenger searched with Atlanta as their home airport, they would see options for one way flights to Fort Lauderdale for $39, or flights to Houston for $29. The tool can be helpful when travelers know they want to get away, but aren’t exactly sure where.

One of the other top destinations with deals is Las Vegas. Travelers can fly to the city of luck for $33 from Dallas (DFW), or $39 from Detroit. Las Vegas has become a popular summer destination due to the pools and spas at popular resorts such as Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas, Wynn Las Vegas, and Aria Las Vegas, all of which were recently ranked in T+L’sWorld's Best Awards.
The deals on Spirit's website are constantly updated based on availability, and are mostly valid for August 2024 travel. Spirit is known for low-cost tickets with extra fees for seat assignment and other amenities. The airline recently eliminated change or cancellation fees for most tickets. Passengers should carefully review the terms of the ticket they are buying so there isn't any surprises at the check-in counter, such as bag fees.
