Trip.com Group said Thursday that it has selected Amazon Web Services as its “strategic cloud provider” in a multiyear deal meant to drive innovations in travel bookings, personalized recommendations, and customer service.

The brand new eatery has officially opened its doors at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas this week. The restaurant and bar aims to transport guests to Côte d'Azur by way of a modern French-inspired menu and has already been celebrated by World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

Amazon Web Services is having a conference all week in Las Vegas, and there have already been several reveals of next-generation offerings for the travel industry. 

Next year is going to be an exciting year for travel, with many brands announcing new plans, such as American Airlines bringing more flights to more cities. Hotels are also jumping on the bandwagon as Marriott Bonvoy members can bid on exclusive Super Bowl LVIII packages to enjoy special pregame and postgame experiences in 2024. Some packages are available starting at 10,000 Bonvoy Points, while others go to the highest bidder.

American Airlines is targeting snowbirds with several new routes exclusively for the President’s Day holiday weekend. 

Breeze Airways announced two new routes and one new city Wednesday as the startup carrier continued to fill in its route map.

Las Vegas, the Official Host City of Super Bowl LVIII, has launched a petition on Change.org urging football fans to encourage excessive celebration during the city’s first foray into hosting the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024. The petition was accompanied by a music video featuring former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Grammy-nominated artist Tobe Nwigwe. The petition is a nod to the fact that while professional sports often restrict excessive celebrations, they are always encouraged in Las Vegas. “Whether you are on the Strip, in the stadiums, or just here for a good time, Las Vegas will forever be the home of excessive celebration,” reads the petition in part.

The iconic Bellagio Resort & Casino has this week announced it will be opening a brand-new cocktail and jazz lounge in collaboration with musician Bruno Mars. The two icons in hospitality and entertainment will reportedly launch The Pinky Ring cocktail lounge and jazz bar in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip early next year.

The top U.S. airlines and airports improved upon their Thanksgiving on-time performance this year compared to 2022.According to the latest analysis from leading global travel data provider OAG, the on-time performance of major U.S. airlines improved by one percentage point over last year's holiday, reaching 85.7 percent.OAG examined the on-time performance of all airports and airlines on Thanksgiving Eve (November 22), which is one of the busiest travel days of the year. In 2023, airlines and airports overcame not only crowds but weather disruptions to improve upon last year.According to OAG, nearly 18,400 flights arrived on time—within 15 minutes of the scheduled time—among the major U.S. carriers on November 22. Two airlines—Delta Air Lines (91.5 percent) and United Airlines (90.5 percent)—even achieved over 90 percent on-time performance across their domestic networks.Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines also saw improvements over last year, with on-time performance rates of 89.4 percent and 89.3 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, fifth-ranked Southwest Airlines reported a dip from 88.5 percent in 2022 to 86.9 percent in 2023.American Airlines (84.4 percent), Allegiant Air (84.2 percent), Frontier Airlines (76.2 percent) and Breeze Airways (62.3 percent) all improved upon last year while Sun Country Airlines (84.8 percent), JetBlue (64.8 percent), Spirit Airlines (61.7 percent) and Cape Air (33 percent) all lost ground compared to Thanksgiving Eve 2022.

Turkish celebrity chef and entrepreneur Nusret Gökçe is breaking records again by opening his first Saltbae Burger restaurant at Istanbul International Airport (also referred to as Istanbul Grand Airport).
