It's the first month of a new year, a time when many of us try beginning anew with an ambitious set of resolutions in tow. But frequent fliers know that more than just personal goals are refreshed on January 1—the fateful day when most airlines reset their elite status counters.
That means it's time to start building up those points and miles for another year of enjoying the benefits and elite perks you worked hard for in 2023. The good news is there are a host of fresh points and miles promotions and offers to boost your frequent flier and loyalty program accounts from the get-go.

Here are the latest updates in the miles, points, and credit cards world, and how you can take advantage of them to keep you in the know and on the go for 2024.

Whenever you are short on frequent flier miles or hotel points for a redemption, transferable credit card points can come to the rescue. The flexibility of credit card points can be huge, but you shouldn’t move them to an airline or hotel program until you confirm that there is an available award (a ticket you can purchase with points or miles) for what you need. The best time to transfer points from credit cards to airline frequent flier programs is when there is a special offer to do so. This month, there are several, but you need to hurry to take advantage.

Each round averaged just over two hours, I never lost a single ball, and I did it all without a passport or plane tickets. No greens fees. No rain. BYOB. I didn’t even have to wear a collared shirt.
