Round up nine of your closest friends, and prepare for an epic beach day with one of Carnival Cruise Line's newest cabana types.
Dubbed Supervillas, they hold up to 10 people and offer a ton of amenities. You can find them on the line's new private beach destination, Celebration Key, set to open next summer on the south side of Grand Bahamas Island in the Bahamas. They're some of the largest private rental spaces for the cruise line at sea or ashore.
Don't need something quite that big? Celebration Key will offer a variety of villas, daybeds and cabanas to accommodate your group size and budget.
Carnival announced the new for-fee rentals along with news about other exclusive areas on the island, including an adults-only beach club with its own infinity pool, beach and restaurant.

These private escapes from the regular crowds will come in two types across both the Starfish Lagoon family-friendly area and Calypso Lagoon adults-friendly and adults-only areas, offering passengers a variety of perks.
Price: $1,999.99 for up to 10 people
Celebration Key's largest cabana-style offering is the Over-the-Lagoon Supervilla. You'll find two over the Calypso Lagoon and two near the Starfish Lagoon.
Visitors can expect shaded seating, including sofas and chairs; a dining table for eight; cabinets for locking up valuables; minifridges with water and soda included; and plenty of outdoor seating in the form of sun loungers, swing chairs and hammocks.
Fresh fruit will be ready for you on your arrival, and lunch is included and will be delivered by a cabana attendant. But perhaps the best part is the private waterslide that will take villagoers directly into the lagoon.
Price: $1,799.99 for up to 10 people
The slightly less pricey Beach Supervillas — two at Calypso Lagoon and two at Starfish Lagoon — have a bit less space and offer most of what the Over-the-Lagoon Supervillas do. You won't find a slide or quite as much seating, but you'll still find a shaded sofa and chairs, a dining table for eight, sun loungers, a hammock, a fridge with chilled drinks, lunch delivery, and a place to lock up your valuables.
If you want your own private or semiprivate space at Celebration Key without paying the big bucks, Carnival has plenty of other options to serve as your home base for the day.
Price: $899.99 for up to six people
Located around Calypso and Starfish lagoons, Large Cabanas include four sun loungers with umbrellas, locking cabinets, a sofa and dining table with four chairs, privacy curtains, a ceiling fan, fresh fruit upon arrival, lunch delivery, and a minifridge stocked with water and soft drinks.

For almost two decades, Dubai’s beachfront was something of a graveyard. Towards Abu Dhabi, you had the partially finished Palm Jebel Ali, which had been announced in 2002. Closer to the marina area, there was the struggling “The World” Islands, which dated to 2003. And towards Sharjah, Deira Islands (the 2004 project now known as Dubai Islands), seemed abandoned.

Racheli Evanson had a magical childhood. She grew up on Turtle Island in Fiji, which was immortalized in popular culture when it appeared in the 1980 Brooke Shields film Blue Lagoon. Racheli’s American father, Richard, purchased the island in 1972 and turned it into a private resort, where Racheli, her siblings, and her Fijian mother lived until she left to attend boarding school in Australia. Now living in Brisbane with her partner Will Perrins, an Australian in industrial property development, she works remotely for the resort, and the couple has traveled there many times. So there was only one place where Will wanted to propose—and only one destination where they knew they’d marry.

You may associate the word "cruising" with short jaunts to the Bahamas or Mexico. On those cruises, a lot of the experience is about the onboard fun, and some passengers never even leave the boat.
On a particularly relaxed Friday in August, I spent the morning with my two best friends in the Tulum jungle, splashing around what I'm quite sure is the world's most entertaining pool. We were at the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya Resort's spa pool, which comes tricked out with mystery buttons around the perimeter, each setting off a variety of jets, waterfalls, and even a surge of bubbles bursting out from a lounger submerged a foot below the water's surface.
