There’s no shortage of restaurants, bars, and wellness destinations in the Hamptons, but every year there are some new locations shaking things up out east. From a re-imagined waterside hotel to an all out dinner to dance party spot, here are five new places to try.
1. CURIO at Project Hamptons
It would be hard to define CURIO at Project Hamptons as one thing because this pop-up space has it all — workout classes, luxury fashion retail, events, fundraisers and more. Come to this versatile Bridgehampton spot in the early morning for an energizing and booty-sculpting class like Meredith X Formula which combines H.I.I.T, pilates, functional training and barre methods. Or, if you would prefer to come at a later hour for a beauty experience, there’s an ongoing array of event to choose from — this week there will be a WATSKIN protective sunwear or JLo Beauty event, for example. Check the schedule and you’re guaranteed to find something that will pique your interest.
2. Talya
Talya is a new restaurant that brings Mediterranean ambiance to Montauk — table dancing Greek Island-style included. Located at Ruschmeyer’s, this restaurant is very group dining-friendly with an array of shareable plates to choose from like stuffed clams and beef tartare dolmades for appetizers (these are on the smaller side so when in doubt order two) and mains like chicken kebab and orzo and crab. Come early if you want a chill dinner or book the 10 pm slot if you want to enjoy a dance rager with bottle service.
3. UnionDerm Hamptons
One of New York City’s top dermatology and aesthetic treatment practices, UnionDerm just opened up a brand-new Hamptons location in Water Mill. Now there’s no need to go to the city for treatments like fraxel, microneedling, and body treatments like Vbeam as you can easily book them out east. If you’re looking for a non-invasive and rejuvenating face treatment with no downtime, try Sofwave which is making waves in the beauty world. This procedure uses ultrasound to stimulate collagen production and skin tightening. After about an hourlong in-office visit you’ll walk out with luminous skin and results continue to improve over a span of six month. This treatment is great for someone looking for an effective update that won’t interfere with their Hamptons plans.
4. Leon 1909
Leon 1909 is located on Shelter Island, so technically not in the Hamptons but definitely gets lots of Hamptons visitor spillover in the summer. Just a short ferry ride from North Haven will bring you to this new locale of which the focal point is a central wood-fired hearth. The menu focuses on local and seasonal fare with French and Italian notes. The Caesar salad is a must, as is the slow-fired half chicken which

‘Leith is changing. Bars are becoming bistros, and barbers are opening with bars in them,” says walking guide Paul Stewart, founder of Edinburgh Street Tours. He points to the new tram station atop Leith Walk and says, “It feels more tram-spotting than Trainspotting,” a reference to the drug-addled 90s black comedy written by Leith-born Irvine Welsh. Stewart is not complaining as he used to survive on the streets of this old port where, in the 1980s, half the unemployed had been jobless for over a year. It was no accident that Leithers the Proclaimers used Leith as the video backdrop for their damning riposte to Thatcherite Scotland, Letter from America.
You can’t escape the orange. That’s what travelers this summer have been reckoning with — swaths of tangerine, traffic cone and burnt sienna on maps indicating record high temperatures around the globe. Four concurrent heat domes from the southern United States to East Asia descended on millions — Phoenix residents enduring 31 days of 110-degree-plus temperatures. Italians in more than a dozen cities under extreme weather warnings. And in South Korea, at least 125 people were hospitalized for heat-related conditions at the World Scout Jamboree.

Elix, the newest property to join Mar-Bella Collection, a family-owned Greek hotel group opened in 2021, on the Ionian coast of the West side of mainland Greece. It’s in one of the most unspoilt regions of mainland Greece and feels like a real hideaway. It is the ideal destination for couples and families with grown up children keen on active outdoor adventures.
When it comes to using a car service to get around town, to and from the airport or from one destination to the next, travelers looking for a high-end option have a myriad of brands to pick from. Based on my personal experience, I can tell you that I’ve come to rely on Blacklane.

When you enter The Loutrel, the upscale hotel in Charleston, S.C.’s fashionable French Quarter, you might feel as if you’re on the front porch of someone’s grand old Southern home, instead of a hotel lobby. And that warm and relaxed welcome is exactly how the hotel wants guests to feel when they walk through its doors.
