Eastern Airways reinitiates its Aberdeen route from Teesside Airport, now offering the sole direct connection from North-East England to Scotland, enhancing connectivity to Aberdeen’s energy hub.
Eastern Airways, the UK’s regional airline, commenced Aberdeen services from Teesside Airport to re-establish what is currently the only North-East England to Scotland flights. Initially the service will operate daily weekdays and Sunday with an increase to twice daily from 9 th September, offering what will then be peak morning and evening services to ensure connectivity to the UK’s North-East Scotland energy hub.
The return of Eastern Airways to the Aberdeen service having operated the route form 2001 until 2022 adds to the airlines well established Teesside seasonal summer Jersey service and joins Eastern Airways basing of a 100-seat Embeaer 190 last month to operate the KLM Cityhopper Amsterdam service, resulting in Eastern operating up to 54 arrivals and departures weekly from Teesside Airport.

Recently re-elected Mayor of Tees Valley Ben Houchen attending today’s inaugural flight said: “We’re at the forefront of new offshore industries coming to Teesside – and we’ve had a longstanding and deeply skilled workforce grafting in the North Sea and around the world for decades now.
“It is absolutely vital offshore workers keep their link to Aberdeen to get to and from work, and I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring this back to our departure boards again with Eastern Airways.
“As things stand, we’re the only airport offering an Aberdeen link in the North-East. It shows, once again, that our airport is about more than just holiday flights – it’s helping the livelihoods of people in Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool.”
