A low-cost airline is on the move with new routes and flight deals. Avelo Airlines, based in Houston, recently announced a major expansion with its first international destinations of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Cancun, Mexico.

JetBlue is on the move with new flight routes, while saying goodbye to others. Ahead of the winter travel season, the airline will add a variety of new routes to popular destinations such as Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Phoenix. “These moves underscore JetBlue's commitment to refining its network while leveraging its award-winning experience,” the airline shared in a release announcing the news.  In the New York area, the airline will begin new service from Long Island’s MacArthur Airport (ISP), with a new daily flight to Orlando, and also service to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and West Palm Beach (VPS) four times a week. 

In 2025, Virgin Atlantic will begin adding a "green levy" to airfares to help cover the cost of using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Avelo Airlines announced a whopping 18 new routes and three new destinations as part of what the startup carrier billed as the "largest expansion in company history."

Southwest Airlines just announced a monumental shift in its passenger experience. The Dallas-based carrier said on July 25 that it plans to soon introduce seat assignments, as well as premium extra-legroom areas on board its fleet of narrow-body aircraft.

The holidays came early for deal-seeking travelers.Frontier Airlines recently revealed a “Christmas in July” airfare sale that provides discounts on flights around the United States for as low as $19 one-way.Travel + Leisure spotted deals available from major airports including Atlanta, Nashville, Cleveland, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando, and more for as low as $19 one-way, as listed on Frontier’s website The fare sale ends on July 25, 2024 at 11:59pm ET, and is valid for tickets through November 13, 2024. However, travelers are advised of several restrictions on when they can use the tickets — such as only flying from Monday through Thursday, and Saturday. There are also time periods where the promotion does not apply, such as select weekends.  While many of Frontier's fares are lower in the promotion, the $19 one-way promotional fares are exclusive to members of the airline's paid membership program, Discount Den. The program provides members access to lower prices, free flights for kids, and other perks.  One exciting part of the deal is it also includes discounted airfare to popular international routes. Travelers can score $89 flights from either Miami, FL or Atlanta, GA to Cancun, Mexico. The fare sale also offers $109 flights from Dallas, TX to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  Other popular one-way flight routes in the promotion include:
