ALG Vacations is launching a new fam strategy, streamlining more than a dozen escorted familiarization trips into two large trips.
The ALGV Pros on the Go program will feature two mega fams, each consisting of around 150 travel advisors staying at multiple resorts and touring one of eight unique hotel itineraries.
Excursions, along with volunteer 'give-back' activities and a one-day training session, will be included. The give-back activities will consist of donation collections and on-site service activities in local communities. The training day will include presentations and workshops as well as third-party seminars on destination photography and confidently charging professional fees.
The first ALGV Pros on the Go fam trip will take place in Cancun from April 9 to 13, and the second trip will be in Punta Cana from June 9 to 13.
Advisors must obtain ALGVPro certification in order to be considered eligible for fam trips. ALGV business development managers will select eligible advisors from all U.S. sales regions.
The company said it decided to change its fam strategy of hosting smaller trips multiple times throughout the year in order to provide a larger educational and networking opportunity for advisors.
"We wanted to streamline the process for our sales and events teams and leverage the larger education and networking opportunity with advisors and the ALGV staff, incorporating the highest value components of our Ascend conference on a smaller scale," said Jacqueline Marks, global head of trade brands at ALG Vacations. "We think ALGV Pros on the Go will be another extremely popular in-destination event for the travel advisor community."

Denver is known as the “Mile High City” due to some parts of the state capital standing exactly one mile above sea level. After recreational marijuana was legalized in Colorado back in January 2014, cannabis-curious travelers can now get high in more ways than one. Flower, edibles, and other apparel must only be purchased from a licensed dispensary and consumed on private property in Denver. Sidewalks, ski slopes, and trails are off-limits but 420-friendly accommodation is a safe haven to space out. These cannabis-friendly Airbnbs in Denver give you the green light to smoke.
