American Express has sent out another round of targeted offers for Delta Air Lines frequent flyers. One is for cardholders of The Platinum Card® from American Express; the other is for cardholders of the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card. Checking and using your card offers is a great way to save money and/or earn bonus Membership Rewards points.
The first offer is for Amex Platinum cardmembers, who can get $40 back as a statement credit when they spend $180 or more on Delta flights through the Amex Travel portal. This is one of several Amex Offers celebrating the Amex Platinum's 40th anniversary.
For frequent Delta travelers, this offer is essentially a cash rebate. Check your Amex Offers to see if your account has been targeted.
You must first add this Amex Offer to your card, then make the purchase through Amex Travel with the same card by July 5. Note that flight prices on Amex Travel may be higher than booking directly with the airline, so check the Delta site or app before you decide where to book.
Remember that the Amex Platinum earns 5 Membership Rewards points per dollar spent on all flights (on up to $500,000 of these purchases per calendar year, then 1 point per dollar), whether booked through Amex Travel or directly with the airline. The Amex Platinum also offers Delta Sky Club access to the primary cardholder when flying on a Delta-operated flight (limited to 10 annual visits from Feb. 1, 2025), so make sure to stop by for a refreshment before your trip.

The second offer is for targeted cardholders of Amex's Delta SkyMiles Platinum card. You can earn a one-time bonus of 7,500 Delta SkyMiles when you spend a minimum of $200 in one or more purchases directly with Delta Air Lines by Aug. 15.
TPG values Delta SkyMiles at 1.15 cents each, so this bonus is worth roughly $86.
You must first enroll your card for this offer, then make your purchase directly with the airline using the same card. Your flight must originate in the U.S. and be paid for in dollars. Be sure to read all terms before redeeming to ensure your purchase will qualify.
