Ariane Gorin
Gorin has been with Expedia since 2013. She was most recently president of Expedia for Business.
"Ariane Gorin is a superb executive that all of us at Expedia Group and our board have worked with for 10 years," Expedia chair and senior executive Barry Diller said in a release. "We very much wanted an internal candidate to succeed to the CEO position, and following a comprehensive search, the board determined Ariane was the best candidate given her exemplary leadership."
Diller thanked Kern for his leadership.
"It's an exciting time in the company's history, and I'm energized by the opportunities ahead for our employees, travelers and partners," Gorin said.
During the company's financial earnings call Thursday evening, Kern said he planned "to sprint through the finish line on the way out," ensuring a seamless transition of leadership to Gorin.
