City Sightseeing introduces a new social initiative, Changing Lives Day, aiming to provide clean drinking water to 12 Upper Amazon communities by donating 1 euro for every passenger on May 25th.
City Sightseeing, the multinational leader in hop-on hop-off bus, boat and guided walking tour experiences, is calling on all international travellers to join its new solidarity project: to create the necessary infrastructure so that 12 communities in the Upper Amazon in Peru have access to clean drinking water. To do so, all they have to do is enjoy their favourite destination with us and City Sightseeing will donate 1 euro for each passenger who boards the bus on Changing Lives Day, which will take place on Saturday 25th May.
Changing Lives is the first project developed by the company’s new Social Action area, City Sightseeing Cares, to bring together the more than 100 operators of the global brand to work towards the same objective. After voting internally to choose one of three projects in South America, Africa and Asia, the City Sightseeing operators elected to help create a drinkable water supply for a total of 2,101 people in 12 communities in the Upper Amazon in Peru.
City Sightseeing operators will promote their own actions throughout 2024 to raise the necessary funds. To give visibility to the initiative, the company is celebrating Changing Lives Day, when all our operators have agreed to make a donation for each traveller who uses their services on that day.

While we often celebrate our favorite hotels around the world, we rarely spotlight the spaces within the hotel that make the property shine. So, as an extension of our recently released 2024 Hot List of the best new hotels in the world, we are highlighting the best new hotel restaurants, spas, and bars, as picked by our editors. Below, the hotel restaurants that compete with the best places to eat, anywhere—and the dishes you can't miss.
For too many years, the lesbian bar suffered from a tragic narrative: It was disappearing. The once-ubiquitous venue found in almost every city and small town was no longer as necessary as it used to be, for some reasons good—a new level of acceptance, and anti-discrimination laws—and the less sunny, like the immense cost of operating a small business in America. The lesbian bar was so close to extinction in the US that The Lesbian Bar Project emerged in 2020 to help protect the remaining 20 or so spaces trying to survive a pandemic, through fundraising and awareness.

In October 2023, as the races at the Mexico City Grand Prix electrified track-side spectators, a quieter but no less meaningful moment unfolded at the city's Gota de Leche School. As another gift to the students, the volunteers also packed school bags filled with new art supplies, including a handwritten letter from each of them.
