PANAMA – Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A. and a member of the Star Alliance global airline network, is once again recognized by Cirium as “The Most Punctual Airline in Latin America” for 2023. The recognition, presented during a ceremony held at the Copa Airlines Maintenance Center in Panama City, highlights the airline’s achievement of the highest punctuality rate on the continent with an 89.5% on-time arrival rate, significantly above the airlines that followed in the region. Likewise, this result is not only the highest in the Americas but is among the three highest in the world.
“Being recognized once again as the most punctual airline in Latin America and obtaining the best on-time result in the entire American continent is the result of our firm commitment connecting the Americas with the reliability and safety our customers have come to expect,” said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines. “This achievement is possible thanks to the teamwork, commitment, effort and dedication of Copa Airlines’ talented team in Panama and in all the countries where we operate, which is a source of great pride and satisfaction for all of us.”
In addition to highlighting Copa Airlines’ punctuality achievements, the report “The On-Time Performance (OTP)” 2023, presented by Cirium, highlighted the airline’s impressive schedule flight completion factor for the same period, which stood at 99.84%, positioning Copa as one of the two airlines with the fewest canceled flights in the world.
“Congratulations to Copa Airlines not only for its exceptional punctuality in 2023, but also for its consistency in being the most punctual Latin American airline not only in 2023, but in nine out of the last 10 years,” said Jeremy Bowen, CEO of Cirium. “Their consistency is a testament to their commitment to operational excellence.”
Punctuality and reliability are fundamental values for Copa Airlines, as evidenced by the airline being recognized by Cirium as the most punctual in the region for the ninth time; a leadership it maintains so far in 2024 with an on-time arrival rate of 89.4% in January and 91.6% in February.
During the Cirium recognition ceremony for Copa Airlines, the airline presented a special recognition to a group of 20 employees from different departments, representing all those who make it possible for the airline to remain a leader in punctuality in the region.
