One of Mexico's most popular vacation destinations now has bragging rights for having two luxurious Four Seasons resorts.
The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol is now open. The property is meant to resemble a Riviera village, with 96 guest rooms and suites, as well as 61 residences, villas and estates. Guests will be able to enjoy eight restaurants and bars, three swimming pools, a spa, a private art gallery, stores featuring the works of local artisans, the Kids For All Seasons club and the Baja 360 Adventure Centre.
The resort is 30 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) and about 1.5 hours from the Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas, the area's other Four Seasons property.
"When we decided to create a second Four Seasons experience in Los Cabos, we wanted to continue raising the bar, creating a distinctive yet complementary experience in this beloved destination," Rainer Stampfer, Four Seasons president of global operations of hotels and resorts, said in a statement. "Every detail of this resort is designed to set the stage for not just a great vacation, but a holiday that will be remembered for a lifetime."
Guests at the new Four Seasons will arrive in a cobblestoned plaza before they are whisked to an oversized sofa to enjoy a welcome drink and the Sea of Cortez breeze while checking in. Rooms and suites are meant to be indoor-outdoor spaces with retractable, floor-to-ceiling glass doors overlooking the sea, terraces featuring private plunge pools, and outdoor showers. There's also ample space: Accommodations range from 847-square-foot guest rooms to 7,255-square-foot one-bedroom villas.
Dining at the new resort includes Sora, an oceanfront rooftop bar, and Palmeria, a "Mediterranean love letter to the Baja Peninsula." You'll also find Cora, a beach club, and Bar Brisal, a casual pool bar for light bites near the resort's adults-only pool. Cayao, a Japanese-Peruvian restaurant, will open later this year along with Mercado, a village-inspired cafe. There will also be various culinary experiences like tequila tastings and pasta labs, and children under the age of 5 can enjoy complimentary meals at the resort.
Executive chef Miguel Baltazar and food and beverage director Matt Myers oversee the resort's food and beverage programming, while architect Robert Glazier and designers Meyer Davis and EDG Design are responsible for the property's design and overall aesthetic.
On the activity front, guests can book experiences like scuba diving, snorkeling and free diving via the Baja 360 Adventure Centre. There are also opportunities to book boat excursions to El Arco, Los Cabos' famous arched landmark. Those looking for a little more rejuvenation can
