As a prolific reader, I've loved Amazon since it was just an online bookstore. However, now we can find almost anything we want or need on Amazon, delivered to us within two days with our Amazon Prime subscription.
Today, I turn to Amazon for pretty much everything, including clothes, electronics, household essentials, books and, of course, everything I need for travel. My credit card accounts always show a spike in Amazon transactions in the weeks leading up to a big trip.
So when I saw that Amazon was once again one of the 5% earning categories on Chase Freedom (no longer available to new applicants) and Chase Freedom Flex℠ for this quarter (activation required), I celebrated. For these three months, my Chase Ultimate Rewards points will pile up as fast as the Amazon boxes in my recycle bin.
The information for the Chase Freedom credit card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
Here's how I'm making the most of the Amazon bonus category this quarter.

I always use Amazon to restock my tiny toiletries before a trip, like my favorite makeup wipes. However, I'm taking advantage of the bonus earnings this quarter to upgrade some of my larger travel items.
I've found my favorite packing cubes and headphones at Amazon, so it's no surprise that Amazon is where I'm turning to find a new portable phone charger, airplane pillow and packable rain jacket.
I also finally got on the bandwagon of AirTags ahead of a trip to Europe.

The spring cleaning and decorating bug gets me every year, so I'm checking Amazon for the cleaning and decor items I need before going to my usual local stores. Amazon almost always comes through with exactly what I'm looking for at a great price, so I'm using the Freedom bonus earnings as an excellent excuse to click "add to cart" on things like fresh linens and new outdoor chairs.
I'm also stocking up on things I know I'll need soon, even if I haven't run out of them yet. It's safe to assume my dog will keep expecting a daily treat, and I'll keep drinking my favorite cold brew for the next few months, so I'm placing an order for both while I can earn bonus points on them.

The spring gift season is upon us, and for once, I'm going in prepared. I'll get all my gifts for Mother's Day, graduations, weddings and birthdays from Amazon.
Also, since creativity can be hard to come by at this busy time of year, I'll probably go the easy route and send some digital Amazon gift cards. I love that I can choose a holiday-specific graphic, add a

Napa Valley has long been a mecca for wine lovers. Who doesn’t fantasize about sipping wine while overlooking a vineyard? But wine country vacations are getting expensive: tasting room fees have risen sharply since 2019, according to Silicon Valley Bank’s 2023 Direct to Consumer report. With premium tasting experiences often costing an average of $128 per person per winery, a weekend getaway can quickly add up. And long gone are the days of traversing Highway 29 and popping into places on a whim; reservations, a practice that gained traction during the pandemic, remain firmly in place.

India-based hotel aggregator and operator Oyo plans to increase its U.S. footprint by adding over 250 hotels in 2024. This would represent a 150% uptick compared to the previous year’s addition of 100 hotels.
For many Alaska visitors, the chance to drop a line in the briny depths of the ocean, or cast a fly rod upon a rushing river, is the reason they’ve traveled north – and for good reason. There is nothing quite like fresh fish – caught amid the stunning scenery of Alaska – consumed over a dinner table filled with tales of the day itself.
As a TPG staffer, I have a pretty solid credit card portfolio. I love using The Platinum Card® from American Express to earn bonus points on flights, Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express for bonus cash-back on grocery and transit purchases and American Express® Gold Card to earn bonus points when I dine out.
Not all airports are created equal. Some are soulless, clinical spaces with little more than bright blueish lighting and endless corridors. They are nothing but a functional building from which to launch your next adventure, be it a weekend away with friends or a big solo trip in a new, far-flung destination.
If you travel internationally at least a couple times per year, chances are you’ve thought about applying for Global Entry. The program gives members access to an expedited line at US Customs and Immigration checkpoints, allowing them to avoid lengthy wait times that become particularly painful during peak travel seasons. Although the Global Entry application process can take weeks or months to complete in full, it's a must-have for frequent flyers who want to make their airport experience as convenient as possible.
