When it comes to organizing your holiday, spontaneity can be really fun. Booking flights, activities, and restaurants all can be improved with a sprinkling of carpe diem. For packing, however, organization is key. Whatever you do, don’t leave packing until the day of travel. There will undoubtedly be a few items that spring to mind just before you head out the door, so make sure you aren’t already frazzled and sick of packing when that happens.
Making a list is always helpful in ensuring you don’t forget anything important, but if you’re not a list kind of person, then just make sure you give yourself enough time to remember anything important. Start with the essentials: passport, phone, charger, keys, wallet, visas or travel documents, prescription medication.
Throwing a bunch of mismatched clothing items is never the best policy, so think of what the weather will be like at your destination, dress codes at any fancy restaurants or events you might be attending, cozy outfits for evenings in, and suitable footwear for a variety of activities (there’s nothing worse than discovering the only shoes you’ve brought give you blisters on day one). For toiletries, packing your liquids in a transparent plastic bag will save you time during security, so you aren’t frantically scrambling through your bags while in line.
Organized fun may not always be the best kind of fun, but when it comes to being able to enjoy your holiday to the fullest, sometimes a little structure is the best way to achieve that. Think about what you want to get out of your vacation: Is there a particular restaurant you want to try? A museum you’ve been desperate to visit? A beach you can picture yourself snoozing on? Doing your research will help guarantee you can slot in everything you want to experience during your trip.
Booking restaurants or bars in advance will save you valuable time; buying tickets for

Snowy weather can cause disruption to travel. We go to great lengths to minimise the effects of snow and ice on the airport – you can read more about that here – but the effects of wintry weather can still make aspects of your journey trickier.
Compared to a lot of things in the big, complicated world or travel, how to rent a car is pretty straightforward. You book the car, you get the car, you return the car. And barring any unforeseen incidents involving moose in the middle of the road, it's a fairly seamless experience. That said, there are some nuances to car rental that can save you both money and time if you know what you’re doing.

It is hard to believe that it has only been about a year since travelers started dabbling in ChatGPT-created itineraries. This year will bring even more experimentation and innovation. “A.I. is like a teenage intern,” said Chad Burt, co-owner of the travel adviser network Outside Agents, “better, smarter, faster than you, but you need to lead them.”

A lucky traveler hit the jackpot at the airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. Inside of the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas there are hundreds of slot machines where travelers can press their luck when departing or arriving on a flight into the famed gaming town. The airport most recently announced a $1,031,200 winning play at one of the slot stations. The jackpot took place on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, and was at the «Wild Wild Buffalo Penny Game.» The machine is located in Las Vegas Airport’s D Gates, which services Air Canada, American, Breeze, Condor, Delta, Flair Airlines, Frontier, Hawaiian Air, Sun Country Airlines, United, Lynx, and WestJet. The traveler appeared to only make a $3 bet on the slot, according to a photograph shared. The big win garnered excitement from people, such as one social media user commenting, “$3 bet? Oh holy Buffffffffaaaallllllooooo!!” In September, a woman from Texas won over $643,435 on a Wheel of Fortune themed slot machine inside of the Las Vegas Airport. The Las Vegas Airport slot machines have become lucrative business, generating over $1 billion in all-time revenue, which can help lower the cost of airport maintenance, according to local outlet, the Las Vegas Sun. “When you land at Harry Reid International Airport you know you're in Las Vegas when you see and hear the sights and sounds of slot machines,” the airport shares about the slot machine experience. The airport, which recently celebrated its 75th anniversary, has experienced a 9.4% traffic increase for most of 2023, with over 52 million passengers, according to statistics. For passengers looking to explore Las Vegas' airport, but not seeking to gamble, the airport recently opened several new shops including a Johnston & Murphy shoe store, and a Vera Bradley retail shop.
