If you’ve ever had to change terminals at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), you likely know it can be a real pain. You can brave the elements and walk on a sometimes crowded sidewalk, which may be narrowed down due to construction. Alternatively, you can wait to hop onto one of the crowded shuttle buses that may be delayed. Fortunately, there is a new option available.
LAX Now Offers A Connection Between Terminals 1–8
Passengers traveling through LAX can now move between Terminal 1 through Terminal 8 without leaving the building. LAX is the sixth busiest airport in the world, so having a way to get from Terminal 1 all the way through to Terminal 8 can be a significant stress relief and save a reasonable amount of time.
However, here’s where things get a little tricky.
Access to the nearly two-mile path is only accessible post-security. So, if you have to collect your luggage and switch to another airline, you’ll still need to leave the building.
For instance, if you are arriving at LAX on a Southwest flight in Terminal 1 but then switching to another airline for an international trip, you will need to collect your checked bags (if any), go outside and use the sidewalk or shuttle, and then make your way to Tom Bradley International Terminal for your next departing flight. As it is a new airline, you must go through the check-in and security process again.
But, if you are sticking to one airline and need to change terminals, you can easily do that from your arrival gate to your departing gate.
Summary
The new pathway that allows travelers to get from Terminal 1 to Terminal 8 post-security at LAX is a welcome addition to the vast airport. Plus, LAX has also announced more upgrades planned to open in 2024, including an Automated People Mover and its corresponding pedestrian bridges.

For over ten years, the Jaipur, India-based brothers and founders of Trunks Company, Priyank and Paritosh Mehta, have been on a mission to revive the steamer trunk and support local artists who make them. This week, they’ll be exhibiting 11 of the most ornate examples of the company’s work at the Salon Art + Design fair at thePark Avenue Armory, from a library trunk with quilted leather lining that’s embedded with speakers and lit with LED spotlights to a hand-painted red, white and navy blue Games Island Trunk that unfolds to become a tiny casino featuring amusements like Jenga, poker and chess. About a dozen craftspeople work two to three months on each of the trunks, which are meant to be statement pieces in a home rather than accompanying their owners on a trip, says Paritosh. “We’ve been commissioned to craft a trunk in the shape of the Taj Mahal Palace by the hotel, and to make a trunk for a collector to display his watch collection,” he says. “We’re building a whole lifestyle around heritage trunks.” Next year, though, the company plans to debut its most practical collection to date: hand-painted trunks with wheels that one can actually travel with.

Set in the northern Baja peninsula, Valle de Guadalupe is tucked in from the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortéz, and hemmed by mountains on three sides. The valley cups the cool, ocean air drifting inland to form a Mediterranean microclimate—dry hot days, a firm afternoon breeze, cool nights—that makes Valle de Guadalupe a very good place to make wine. Indeed, this is Mexico’s wine country, home to over 150 wineries, and that same temperate microclimate that makes Valle de Guadalupe a very good place to make wine means it’s also a great place to visit year-round.

“‘Nam mô A Di Đà Phật’” (Homage to Amitabha Buddha) is a greeting you hear at Chua Huong Lam temple in Pearland, a suburb of Houston. A dozen Buddha statues and a large figure of Quan Am Tathagata, the bodhisattva (one who seeks awakening) of compassion in an open courtyard are the only indications that this is a religious institution. A series of steps leads to the entrance where the sweet smell of incense and the melodious prayer chants can be heard.
