Named after the date the building originally opened it’s doors as Dundee’s largest jute & linen mill, the stylish bar celebrates Dundee’s history heritage and celebrates local brands and produce.
Percor Capital, owners of Hotel Indigo and Staybridge Suites Dundee, have revealed the first look at their newly opened, state-of-the-art bar, Eighteen Twenty-Two which welcomed guests and visitors this weekend following a one-million-pound refurbishment. The refurbishment also showcases a stylish new look hotel lobby and additional guest parking.
The brand-new bar, Eighteen Twenty-Two celebrates Hotel Indigo Dundee’s history, marking the date the building first opened as Dundee’s oldest, and at the time, the world’s largest linen mill. Design touches from expert-leading hotel design company Ica, nod to the building’s industrial past with bespoke jute wallpaper and artwork showcasing the building throughout the centuries.
Now open daily, Eighteen Twenty-Two will offer guests and visitors the chance to discover local home-grown Dundee brands, with a knowledgeable bar team serving local gins including Eden Mill’s Golf gin distilled just down the coast; local draught from Dundee based 71 Brewing; whiskies from across each region of Scotland and bespoke Eighteen22 cocktails, celebrating local delicacies like Dundee’s famous cake and marmalade. Open from 9am each day, guests are welcomed to coffee, pastries, and co-working facilities in the stylish new space. From 12noon guests can enjoy dining from the bar menu including bar bites, homemade soup of the day and small and large plates. Dishes are designed to showcase local suppliers and celebrate homemade dishes such as pork and black pudding sausage rolls, bite-sized burger sliders and house favourites such as haddock goujons and steak and ale pie.
