You could say that brothers Oliver and Zach Hyman were like kids in a candy store when they created their new direct-to-consumer brand, Bubblegum Kids.

While we were growing our family, my husband and I raised our kids in the Middle East, starting from when our oldest child was a toddler up through her middle school years. Since we were already on that side of the Atlantic, halfway around the world from our native United States, we seized the opportunity to travel and experience nearby locations.

My family and I live in Alabama and travel throughout the year between Birmingham and the Gulf Coast. Just a little over four hours, it's an easy trip to run down to the white sand beaches. Some of these road trips have been bliss, with the kids taking long naps in the back seat, while others have been less enjoyable, with screaming fits and diaper blowouts.

I've been visiting Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando with my kids for over a decade. While the process for planning a successful Disney vacation have changed again and again, Universal has stayed pretty much the same.

Growing up, I would travel from Argentina — where I'm from — to Galicia in the north of Spain to visit my mom's side of the family. Galicia is on the country's northwest coast and is known for its delicious seafood, which includes grilled octopus, tuna empanadas, and percebes, one of the most expensive kinds of seafood in the world.
