A pair of lawsuits involving eight women have been refiled by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in Colorado against Denver-based Frontier Airlines.
The original lawsuits were filed in 2017.
The women say the carrier discriminated against female pilots and flight attendants who were either pregnant or breastfeeding by not making reasonable accommodations.
"Frontier has penalized flight attendants for absences during their pregnancies, and forces both pilots and flight attendants onto unpaid leave at the end of their pregnancies with no alternatives," the ACLU Colorado said in a release.
Frontier has denied the allegations and says it maintains several policies regarding pregnant women and lactating mothers.
But pilot Brandy Beck said: "I asked, you know, can I pump in the lavatory when my flights were too long to wait to pump after I landed. The only answer I received was, 'We cannot designate the lavatory as a pumping area.'"
"Just trying to find a place to let down to pump so I wasn't in pain and I wasn't distracted was a tough experience."
It is not known when the lawsuits will be heard. Presumably, however, it will not take six years to come to trial.
