Princess Cruises has officially revealed Spellbound by Magic Castle, a new collaboration with the famed Hollywood clubhouse for the Academy of Magical Arts, The Magic Castle, set to launch onboard Sun Princess when the new ship debuts in early 2024.
Hidden behind a secret door onboard the ship, Spellbound blends the world of magic with the art of mixology to create a Victorian-inspired experience where guests will soak up live performances from talented magicians and sip grand theatrical cocktails delivered by sleight-of-hand servers as well as a few surprises in themed rooms.
John Padgett, President of Princess Cruises, says "We are excited to introduce Spellbound by Magic Castle and take the art of magic around the world aboard the spectacular new Sun Princess.
This collaboration with The Magic Castle takes entertainment into new dimensions with an extraordinary experience that combines the allure of magic with the thrill of cruising. Spellbound will become an iconic guest favorite on Sun Princess.”
As passengers enter Spellbound, they'll visit the Music Room, adorned with mystical artifacts and curious paintings, where they'll meet the spirit of Isabella, who will share her stories of sailing on Sun Princess.
Spellbound will also feature a vintage Parlor Bar featuring Artemis the Owl, who is revealed through skilled illusionists before entering the intimate 30-seat Spellbound Theatre to experience close-up magic by world-class magicians handpicked from each corner of the globe.
Erica Larsen, President of Magic Castle Enterprises, says "We are bringing some of the most authentic aspects of The Magic Castle in Hollywood to Sun Princess, complete with incredible magicians and illusionists, so that Princess guests can experience a taste of the world-class magic that is showcased nightly at the Magic Castle.
It's an exciting opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in a magical experience typically reserved exclusively for members and their guests."

Destinations that can only be reached by sea are among the most world's most brag-worthy. There’s something alluring about the cachet associated with arriving at a destination the “old-fashioned way”—stepping onto the pier (or alighting off a tender) knowing that you’ve shifted from the microcosm of a ship to that of a remote destination. Your two community bubbles will mingle for a few hours and then part, much the way calls at remote ports have always been, dating back to the days of sail.
