On Saturday 8th June 2024, Star Clippers launched Starlink’s internet service on board the 3 ships in the fleet - Royal Clipper, Star Clipper and Star Flyer. The division of SpaceX - the spacecraft manufacturer and satellite communication company - allows connectivity in some of the most remote parts of the world that would have previously had compromised and inconsistent signal.
Mikael Krafft, owner and President of Star Clippers said ‘the rollout of Starlink on board our ships is a pivotal move for the company in recognising the importance of dependable connectivity whilst at sea. Our sailing ships are amongst the most authentic and unique vessels in the world, visiting smaller and remote ports of call, but ensuring our guests and crew can remain in touch with loved ones back home – whilst also enhancing our operational systems on board – is our priority’
Star Clippers is represented in the UK by General Sales Agent Fred Olsen Travel and any packages/offers are for UK passengers and trade.
Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest and tallest fully-crewed sailing vessels. The ships can drop anchor in smaller harbours and visit ports often untouched by larger cruise ships whilst providing guests with the amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht.
