The Jet-Lag Problem, Solved?

I'm not a fan of red-eye flights, but as a travel reporter, I often take them.

I left my apartment in NYC at 9 p.m. on a Friday last month for my red-eye flight to Barcelona. It wasn't my first rodeo on a late-night, long-haul flight, and I felt totally prepared. I ate dinner beforehand and took zero naps, so I figured I'd sleep on the plane and wake up in Spain feeling rested and ready to explore without the brutal jet lag.

When I took my first Mediterranean cruise, I expected to make some mistakes. But I didn't think I'd kick off my voyage with the biggest one. 

You finally made it to Paris, but instead of running up the Eiffel Tower, you’re passing out in your soufflé. Blame jet lag, when your body’s circadian rhythm — its expected sleep and wake times — is out of sync with your new location, leaving you with brain fog at midday or insomnia in the wee hours. Not everyone has the same body clock, of course, and no two trips are exactly the same, but there are some tricks that could help you get your zip back quicker.
