The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is once again expanding its TSA PreCheck program by adding two more international airlines.
The agency will now allow travelers enrolled in the program to access the expedited airport security benefits when flying with Caribbean Airlines and RED Air, according to the TSA. These join more than 100 other carriers that participate in the Trusted Traveler program.
“Enrolled airline passengers must have the TSA PreCheck indicator… on their boarding pass before approaching an airport checkpoint to confirm they are eligible for TSA PreCheck screening,” the agency wrote in a statement, adding, “Most TSA PreCheck passengers wait less than 10 minutes in dedicated lanes at airport checkpoints nationwide.”
Caribbean Airlines is based out of Trinidad and Tobago and is jointly owned by Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica, according to the company. The airline flies to destinations across the Caribbean, North, and South America, including to Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando, New York City, and Puerto Rico in the United States.
For its part, RED Air launched in 2021 and is based in the Dominican Republic, according to the company.
Approved travelers who are enrolled in the TSA PreCheck program are allowed to leave their shoes, belts, and light jackets on and leave their laptops and liquids in their bags when going through airport security. To apply, travelers must fill out an application online and then schedule an in-person interview. Once enrolled, the program is valid for five years.
Children are allowed to accompany their parents or guardians who are enrolled in the program into the PreCheck lane.
In August, the program hit a record milestone with more than 20 million travelers enrolled.
The TSA is constantly adding airlines to the program as well, including popular international carriers like Aer Lingus, Air New Zealand, all-business class carrier La Compagnie, and Spanish airline Iberia.
