Forget sleeping pills and melatonin. With sleep tourism being a hot new trend, this hotel offers an off-the-grid wellness and sleep remedy that’s sure to induce relaxation.
So get out your passport!
Casa Velas, a boutique adults-only hotel in Puerto Vallarta, just launched their latest innovative amenity: Taco Therapy. Assisting in anxiety and stress relief, improving sleep quality, and boosting antioxidants, Taco Therapy is the latest culinary wellness experience at the hotel available for August in celebration of National Wellness Month. The new tasting experience features four curated tacos that provide holistic benefits for the mind, body, and soul. All tacos are served in lettuce taco leaves. (Lettuce contains a compound called lactucarium, which has sedative properties. It can help promote relaxation and improve sleep quality.) All I can say is, “Ole!”
(It’s also why you need a nap after Thanksgiving dinner, and eating turkey.)
Taco Therapy is included in the nightly all-inclusive rate. The starting rate of the Grand Class suite is $395 USD pp, per night based on double occupancy. At Casa Velas, luxury accommodations, gourmet meals, premium liquor and wine, use of the fitness center facilities, WIFI, taxes, and gratuities are included in the nightly rate.
Sweet dreams!

When The White Lotus chose a breathtaking cliffside resort—the Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel—in Sicily as the playground for all the drama of the second season, they unintentionally raised the bar for what is considered impressive when it comes to Italian hotels. But one hotel in Milan doesn’t feel the need to compete: Hotel Principe di Savoia.
I visited Banff, Canada, this past July and it is easily the most impressive place I've ever been.
New York City’s Equinox Hotel is well known for its emphasis on health and well-being. The Hudson Yards’ hotel is conveniently located atop its 60,000 sq. foot namesake gym. The rooms are equipped with yoga mats and a mini bar full of healthy treats. Sorry to ruin your vacation daydreams of sparkling hotel pool swims and romantic hot tub soaks, but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) just reported that hotel pools and hot tubs can cause infectious diseases. Public pools don’t have the best reputation for cleanliness, but according to the CDC’s study, hotel pools and hot tubs are even worse for your health than other shared pools.
Have you ever booked a last-minute trip because you suddenly realized you had a few days to spare? If you have, you’re not alone. More travelers than ever before are participating in the latest travel trend: Spontaneous vacations.
If you’ve ever sat with your knees wedged up against the seatback in front of you, you might be wondering which North American carrier is the airline with the most legroom. And the answer depends entirely on an aircraft measurement called “seat pitch.”
Hotels expect you to take certain things from rooms (travel-sized toiletry bottles are fair game, for example). But when guests start to steal bigger items, that’s when it crosses the line into theft—and why hotels will put a little notice in the room letting you know that if the robe goes missing, it will be added to your bill at checkout.
Halfway through my international journalism program at City, University of London, COVID-19 hit. I was forced to move back in with my parents in rural Wales for three months. I then made the impulsive decision to fly to any airport that would take UK travelers. I found myself on the last flight out to Belgrade, Serbia.
