Wyndham Alltra added another resort to its lineup, the Wyndham Alltra Samaná, a stunning beachfront resort in Las Galeras, the Dominican Republic.
The Wyndham Alltra Samaná will be Wyndham Alltra's first of two resorts in The Dominican Republic. As part of a grand opening sale, guests who book by April 30 can save up to 50 percent on bookings on stays through March 31, 2025.
"The Dominican Republic has long been a coveted destination for travelers looking to relax amidst some of the most stunning beaches in the world," Playa Chief Investment Officer Fernando Mulet said. "We take great pride in helping guests take in the beautiful surroundings and indulge in the all-inclusive experience, all without having to lift a finger."
"As we continue to add stunning resorts in the Dominican, Wyndham Alltra is the perfect brand to deliver on that promise," Mulet continued.
At the newly opened 404-room resort, guests can enjoy balconies with a stunning view of the beach, stocked minibars, free Wi-Fi, and various restaurants, lounges, and bars. Starting later this year, guests can also book additional room types, including club rooms.
In addition to what is on-site, guests can also engage in local activities, such as visiting Playa Madama Beach, bird and whale watching, and even horseback riding.
Besides the aforementioned Wyndham Alltra Samaná, Wyndham Alltra is also planning on opening another resort in the Dominican Republic later this year called the Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana, which will be located about a mile from the Punta Cana airport.
The soon-to-be-opened 620-room resort will feature private swim-outs, furnished balconies, and deluxe-sized beds. In addition to the numerous accommodation options, the Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana will feature nighttime entertainment, pools, spas, and fitness centers, as well as nearly a dozen dining options.

Imagine a day jet skiing between islands accompanied by a pod of dolphins, then getting in a round of golf before your stress-relieving Ayurvedic massage, heading back to your overwater villa to enjoy sunset cocktails then ending the evening with a gourmet meal overlooking the Indian Ocean. All right — they can’t always guarantee the dolphins. But the rest is a sure thing at your stay at Velaa Private Island resort in the Maldives.

Italy’s best-known beaches are renowned worldwide, thanks to their dramatic seascapes, sparkling seas and settings that offer other-worldly sunrises and sunsets. Fame brings crowding and over-tourism, of course, and while it’s a challenge to find an empty beach almost anywhere in peak season (except boat-access-only coves), there are plenty of under-the-radar and less frenzied spots with ample helpings of natural beauty and historic attractions. These places have not lost their local rhythms and charms to a tidal wave of tourists, and are frequented by Italians who live in nearby towns.
By the time you finish this story, New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte may have collected his 1,500th career hit. That’s a milestone hall of famers Roy Campanella, Hack Wilson and Ralph Kiner never reached. The mark is not only a testament to Marte’s consistency at the plate over 13 seasons mostly with the Mets, Miami Marlins and Pittsburgh Pirates, it’s further validation that the decision he made many years ago to journey from his native Dominican Republic to fulfill his big-league dreams in the U.S. was right.
The 2023 Miami Grand Prix proved to be the pivotal race in Max Verstappen’s dominant and historic performance en route to securing his third World Drivers’ Championship title. The Dutch driver started from P9, while his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez started from pole. Verstappen sliced his way through the pack, as if in a different formula category. With nine laps remaining, he emerged from the pits and not only closed a 1.8-second gap to Perez but passed him and put another five seconds into the Mexican driver before taking the checkered flag. What we didn’t realize at the time was that Verstappen would proceed to win every remaining race of the 2023 F1 season, save for a glitch in the Red Bull matrix that was Singapore.
