Maison Villeroy is a very distinctive hotel in Paris: intimate, private, luxe without being showy about it. Starting November 13th, its parent company The Collection, which operates ultra luxury properties in London, St. Barths, St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Courchevel apart from Paris renting for weekly or monthly stays, is bringing that style to New York with the opening of Maison Hudson. This time, though, the property bordering the Hudson River in New York’s Far West Village is being fashioned for a minimum stay of 30 days only. Given the design, accoutrements, and services plus the vitality of the neighborhood surrounding it, anyone planning that length of stay in New York should definitely consider moving in.
Eight residences will be available to rent, ranging from a one-bedroom, open plan, 811 foot space ($32,000 a month) to a three bedroom, 2205 square foot layout that occupies an entire floor ($105,500 a month.) All, however, share panoramic views over the river and the design elements created by New York designer Thomas Juul-Hansen that blend sumptuous, contemporary, curved furniture and leather covered wardrobes by the Italian company Giorgetti in an overall color scheme of beige, taupe and pale blue with hand laid oak and walnut floors and Loro Piana wall coverings. The lighting emanating from custom alabaster fixtures is subdued, flexible and easy to operate (not always true); the full kitchens are equipped with marble countertops, Miele and Sub-Zero Wolf appliances and dishes and glassware by elite brands such as Bernardaud and Christofle. Nespresso machines may be in many hotels but here, a Collection trademark, they’re covered in Giobagnara leather.
The bedrooms are designed to be serene and cossetting, fitted with top of the line Simmons mattresses and Rivolta Carmignani Italian linens; since most face the rear and a courtyard tree filled garden, they’re incredibly quiet despite the West Side Highway adjacent location. The bathrooms, which number one more than the residence’s number of bedrooms, are designed with Italian Calacatta marble and radiant under floor heating. The toiletries are from Officine Universelle Buly 1803, bespoke and created from natural ingredients in a French laboratory that are featured in the Paris hotel and are really delicious to use.
When the property opens, the intimate Intuisse Spa will be open as well featuring facials, massages and infusions (including one intended to minimize jet lag) along with a fitness room and a whirlpool, sauna and steam room area that will be reserved for solo use by a resident. (Memberships will also be available for nonresidents to use these facilities.) The Marius Restaurant featuring Provençal cuisine prepared by Michelin starred

New York is the place to be for the holidays—storied in movies and books.
New York City is full of countless stories. While guidebooks offer a good introduction to this major destination, many other books that speak volumes about NYC’s history, neighborhoods, people, cultures, architecture, sports teams and many other aspects. Some titles may be works of fiction but Gotham is their setting.
In March, I decided to leave the familiar hustle and bustle of Brooklyn and hit the road in search of my new home. My drive across the country landed me in Denver, where I fell in love with the sun setting over the mountains and the wide-open streets free of mysterious smells and rat corpses.
In 2019, the Vessel became the centerpiece of New York City's Hudson Yards neighborhood. Standing at 150 feet tall, with a honeycomb-looking facade, the Vessel cost an estimated $200 million to create, as Insider previously reported.
No city anywhere fuels grand imagination, inspiration, inventiveness and inexhaustible chutzpah quite like the Big Apple, heralds New York Chic, a sumptuous book recently released by luxury publisher Assouline. Its writer Armand Limnander—who was born and raised in Colombia, spent summers avec family in France and has been a devoted New Yorker for more than two decades—dives into the bountiful fascinations of this inimitable mega-metropolis: “Paris is the capital of France. London the capital of England. Tokyo is the capital of Japan, and Beijing the capital of China. New York, on the other hand, is not the capital of the United States—but it is, unquestionably, the capital of the world. No other city can even come close to claiming that title.”
New York is 400 years old, yet constantly evolving. Its distinct neighborhoods have become world-famous, and even to New Yorkers, these neighborhoods often seem to be from another time, another place, although just a few subway stops away.
It’s election night across America. And for restaurants, it was also a big night of awaiting results.

“Asi Wind’s Inner Circle” is one of the most engaging shows I’ve been to in the last several years. Playing at the Judson Theater in downtown Manhattan through January 14th, it’s an intimate and interactive performance starring the magician Asi Wind. His specialty is card tricks, and his acts can’t help but draw audiences in. As Penn & Teller say, “We love him. Go see him.”
Months after Gwyneth Paltrow put her Montecito mansion’s guesthouse up on Airbnb, Martha Stewart is readying herself to get in on the action. The famed homemaker and entrepreneur has long kept a large piece of property along Pea Pond Road in Westchester County, New York; driving past it, as I often did going between my parents’ house in Connecticut and my Poughkeepsie college, you can catch a few glimpses of classic farmhouses and vast greenhouses hidden behind the stone wall. Now, ahead of Thanksgiving, a gaggle of lucky guests can get a closer look during a one-night-only stay.
